Type, Lens, Size & Weight
For starters, Logitech fitted the C615 with a glass lens. Compared to plastic lenses, glass always offers higher quality images. This is captured within a 74-degree viewing angle, large enough to fit at least two people. Its dimensions are 8.25 x 3.00 x 6.00 inches and weighs 6.4 oz making it an easy-to-travel-with companion.
Resolution & Display
When capturing video, you get everything the Logitech HD Webcam C615 has to offer: 1080p native resolution. Not 4K, like on the Logitech Brio, but good enough. It’s only during live calls that it drops down to 720p—but they’re still full HD video calls. However, contrast and light correction benefit the entire spectrum of resolutions, giving off darker tones without sacrificing detail and brightening areas with poor lighting. The Razer Kiyo Webcam has its own built-in light ring.

Tripod & Image Stability
For the best kind of image stability, its tripod-ready base must be used; otherwise you’re left to use the clip-on, which isn’t always the best. It works for “in the moment,” but you’ll find yourself adjusting it pretty often. Autofocus in particular is quick and shark. There’s very little downtime between you and the time it takes to focus.
Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage
Zoom is missing from the Logitech HD Webcam C615, as is storage. More importantly, its built-in microphone is fair for its pricing. There’s built-in noise reduction, which does cut back on static and unwanted audio, but you’ll benefit better from external options—even cheap ones.
Value
If you aren’t concerned by the fact live calls are reduced to 720p, then by all means go with the Logitech C615 Webcam. This is especially true if you don’t have an external microphone; the C615 does well as an all-in-one option. But if you want just a little more performance, go with the Logitech C922X. It fixes most, if not all of the Logitech C615’s problems.

Even if the Logitech HD Webcam C615 does reduce resolution to 720p during live video calls, you still get 1080p when recording. It’s a give-and-take. Most importantly, it’s very friendly to your budget and compatible with the two big dogs in tech: Mac and Windows. Lastly, contrast and light correction really enhance the visuals, even under 720p.
