Stepping away from familiar brands, seeking better deals, the Aoboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream comes to mind as the best webcam for Mac. What does it need, exactly? It supports MacOS, so that takes care of one problem—and it’s plug and play. Native resolution and built-in light are also necessary, and it has both. There’s more than meets the eye!

Why We Like It – Aoboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream

Whether it’s for video streaming, video conferencing, or recording, the Aoboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream strikes a nice balance between audio and visual quality, with a few extra features to boot.

Pros
  • High quality, full HD video recording
  • Dual microphones w/ noise cancellation
  • Multi-angle orientation
Cons
  • Unfamiliar brand

Type, Lens, Size & Weight

What’s cool about the Aoboco USB Webcam Streaming Pro is its ability to orient in multiple directions and adjusts accordingly. In conjunction with a 90-degree wide-angle lens, you can capture action at various angles. Measuring 2.09 x 2.60 x 2.99 inches and weighing 5.28 ounces, it’s very small and compact.

Resolution & Display

While the Aboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream isn’t pushing 4K like the Logitech Brio, it makes 1080p look so good it’s criminal. It doesn’t a bunch of yellow to your video; instead, it captures color pretty well, without too much white either. Auto focus is average, but low light correction is on point. It helps there’s an on-board adjustable ring light with three levels of brightness.

Tripod & Image Stability

For best image stability, you should definitely invest in a small tripod. Without it you’re left to use the clip-on, which doesn’t always work as intended.

Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage

No on-board zoom or internal storage, but digital zoom can be altered through software. More importantly, it has surprisingly good audio quality. This is because it implemented two—not one—microphones with noise cancelling properties. Audio is exceptionally clear, but also free of static. It’s definitely a mile above the Razer Kiyo Webcam in terms of audio quality.

Value

Before you set your eyes on a Logitech C922X, give the Aboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream a fair chance. You’d be surprised at what a webcam half the price of the C922X can do when a familiar name brand isn’t tied to it. Well, you get the Aboco. Considering its performance, it definitely has value.

Aoboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream Wrap Up

The Aboco USB Pro Web Camera Stream doesn’t have brand recognition tied to it, and that’s really all that holds it back. Sure, you could play it safe and go with Logitech, but you could pay twice as much. The Aboco proves performance came first, above all else: 1080p, great low light performance, and audio quality.
