Up next is the Logitech C920 Pro for the title of the best webcam for Mac. Does it hold up? For starters, it’s compatible with MacOS. That’s obviously a must. When it is hooked up to your expensive hardware, it fires back 1080p resolution, with two built-in microphones for better stereo sound.

Why We Like It – Logitech C920 Pro

Built with quality materials, the Logitech C920 Pro offers great video resolution—recording or during video calls—thanks to 1080p and glass lens, along with omni-directional microphones for better audio quality.

Type, Lens, Size & Weight

The glass lens is far more durable and clearer than plastic, which is a nice touch. Its FOV is a fair 78 degrees, so it’s wide enough to capture you and maybe one other person together. Typical of these webcams, it’s small and portable, weighing 6.4 ounces and measures 4.8 x 3 x 1.81 inches.

Resolution & Display

During video calls, resolution is more important than anything, as are the number of frames. Sure, 1080p is great, but if you’re moving at two frames per second, it’ll be a terrible experience. Thankfully, the Logitech C920 Pro runs 1080p at 30fps. It’s very fluid and the picture always stays clear, crisp, and sharp. The Logitech Brio, on the other hand, runs in 4K, which is incredibly detailed and better looking than 1080p.

Tripod & Image Stability

Stability could be better. Like many Logitech webcams, the Logitech C920 Webcam has this clip-on base to grip on the edge of monitors and laptops. It works most of the time, but can easily be knocked off. Thankfully, it supports tripods, as does the Logitech C922X.

Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage

What’s better than one mic? Why, two microphones! The Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam has two omni-directional microphones that pick up sound way better than the Razer Kiyo Webcam does. If you’re video calling friends, family, and coworkers, they’ll pick you up loud and clear. It doesn’t have internal storage, however.

Value

If you’re willing to risk betting on unfamiliar brands, the Logitech C920 Pro is definitely the webcam you want to go with. It has almost everything you need for great video calls and even streaming. It even handles lighting really well. But maybe you’ll go one step closer. If you already have a great external mic, the Razor Kiyo Webcam will be the better deal.

Logitech C920 Pro Wrap Up

We had no doubt the Logitech C920 Pro would be a great workhorse. It wasn’t enough to simply shoot in 1080p, Logitech had to ensure it would be 30fps, in addition to high performance in low-light settings. And audio quality has suffered either; two mics were implemented. What’s missing is a privacy shutter, which can be bought secondhand.
