It would be wrong of us to say the Logitech C270 is the best webcam for conference room of all time, but it’s definitely worth taking a look if you’re on a tight budget. It’s pretty slim with features, so you have less to think about. More importantly, its 720p native resolution and light correction pair nicely when under poor settings.

Type, Lens, Size & Weight
Unsurprising to us, a plastic lens was used instead of plastic, unlike the Logitech C922X Pro. It keeps pricing cheaper, but at the cost of image quality by a smidge. An untrained eye won’t notice the difference. It’s a bit large, however, with dimensions of 9.85 x 4.94 x 6.45 inches and a weight of 6.7-oz.
Resolution & Display
Compared to the Logitech Brio, the Logitech C270 is lacking in resolution. However, one is 4K and the other is 720p, respectively. They’re two different worlds, but 720p is still just fine for video calling, personal use, and conferences. What’s most important is auto-focus and light correction. For $40, it’s rather good, especially under natural lighting.

Tripod & Image Stability
You can forget sticking the Logitech C270 Webcam to a tripod; it doesn’t have a tripod-ready base. Instead it uses a clip-on that works for the most part, thanks to the use of face tracking.
Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage
Zooming won’t be possible, sadly. You do get internal storage, all 200MB, which boosts the purpose of the 3MP optical sensor. The microphone has noise cancellation for background noise, but there’s still a layer of static.
Value
The Logitech C270 limits many of its features, some that would carry value in a conference setting, like a good microphone or the lack of a tripod-ready base. It does have MacOS and Windows support, so you never have to worry about compatibility. Still, you’re better off upgrading to, say, a Logitech C925E Webcam. It’s $50 more, but every negative is addressed by it.
Logitech C270 Wrap Up
Few won’t be bothered by 720p native resolution, but a tripod-ready base and subpar microphone might. It plays well with MacOS and Windows, which is fantastic in a business setting. Its optical sensor and internal storage just fit better for personal use. And on top of that, there’s better options for conferences, offered by Logitech, no less.
