Looking for a Logitech camera that offers 4K, HDR, and superb light correction? If we had to guess, the Logitech Brio 4K fits perfectly as the best webcam for Chromebook. Like its name suggests, it does in fact capture footage and streams in 4K. And with RightLight 3, you’re getting improved light correction, in addition to HDR.

Why We Like It – Logitech Brio 4K Webcam

For some of the best quality, the Logitech Brio 4K—like its name suggests—captures in glorious 4K at 30fps. On top of that, it comes featuring HDR and RightLight 3 light correction.

Pros
  • 4K ultra high resolution video quality
  • RightLight 3 + HDR
  • Omni-directional mics
Cons
  • Needs USB 3.0 for 4K
  • Clip-on design isn’t great

Type, Lens, Size & Weight

Protecting the valuable sensors is a premium glass lens, as opposed to low-quality plastic. It’s weight is 11.8-oz, which is twice the standard weight, while dimensions of 1 x 1 x 4 inches make it thin, but rather wide. It doesn’t sit too awkward on a laptop, thankfully.

Resolution & Display

In order to enjoy 4K at 30fps, you need to connect via USB 3.0. That might be a bummer for some, but your average computer should have at least one. Without it you’ll be forced to output in 1080p at 60fps, that’s 30 frames faster than the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920. To further improve image quality, HDR is also added, creating an incredibly colorful image.

Tripod & Image Stability

One gripe you’ll deal with is the clip-on design. To be frank, it isn’t good. It tends to wobble far too often, so you’ll have to consider external means to keep it stable. Thankfully, it supports tripods.

Optical Zoom, Microphone, Audio & Storage

Yet another webcam Logitech designed with zoom in mind! You can digitally zoom up to 5x, though the Logitech C910 has it beat with 16x. It does not have storage, but the Brio webcam does have omni-directional mics. This provides superb audio quality by capturing stereo sound.

Value

Don’t let the Logitech Brio Ultra HD Webcam’s price scare you away. It’s packed with so many features and plays well with camera apps that it’s worth the price. For example, it’s certified for Skype for Business and even Cisco, in addition to Zoom, Windows Hello, Web Ex, and more. But if you’re worried about budget, the Logitech C615 is under $60.

Logitech Brio 4K Webcam Wrap Up

Even without 4K, you’re getting a boosted 1080p with 60fps and HDR on the Logitech Brio 4K. That’s better than most average 1080p webcams ever achieve. When you do get 4K, you’re getting it no matter what, regardless if you’re recording or during a live call. And with omni-directional mics, sound quality gets a huge boost, too. This is what top specs look like.
