Speed
The Print Speed on the OKI MC573DN is impressive. Rated at 30ppm, it can churn out text pages at a rate of 31.4ppm under optimal conditions. Adding in graphics via Excel and PowerPoint documents, print speed averages 14.2ppm which is still pretty fast compared to the competition. If you would like something just a smidge faster, consider the Brother MFC-L2750DW.
Print Quality
Text quality should be fine for most business applications, but be weary of those requiring very small fonts. Graphics are good enough for PowerPoint handouts, but some backgrounds can come out a bit pale. Photo printing is monochrome but not necessarily good enough for marketing materials. If you’d prefer color photos instead, consider the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw.
Efficiency
The running costs, based on OKI’s price and yields for their toners and drums, is around 2.5 cents per black page and 14.8 cents per color page. The black page running costs is comparably low and is about on par with the Canon imageClass MF424dw. Unfortunately, there is no word on whether there’s an ink subscription program you can join to lower this cost. And considering this is an entry-level printer, there probably isn’t.
Advanced Features
USB and Ethernet come loaded as a connectivity option for the OKI MC573DN, but you must purchase a $75.00 Wi-Fi adapter if you wish to connect via your wireless network. However, the printer does come ready with Google Cloud Print 2.0 and Apple AirPrint, so at least you’ll have those options if you’re looking to print, or mostly print, from your phone or tablet.

The OKI MC573DN provides free download links to Sendys Explorer Lite, a document management program that lets you capture documents, convert them to various formats, and distribute them to email, network folders, and other destinations. It also supports duplex printing so the already massive 350 sheet paper tray can now seem like a whopping 700 sheet tray.
