What could possibly be the best photo editing monitor and maybe the best computer monitor due to being able to self calibrate, the Eizo Coloredge CG319X monitor has a native resolution (four times more than the amount of pixels that HD has). LCD monitors like this and similar coloredge monitors can be used for hdr video editing due to their hardware calibration sensor, and color management software.

Why We Like It – Eizo ColorEdge CG319-4K

The Eizo ColorEdge CG319-4K is very beneficial for anything involving color such as color accuracy. It has a wide color gamut, has hdr gamma support, and can self-calibrate with great color accuracy. As a result, it can be used for things like color grading in movies and photos.

Now, if you think this monitor has intense color accuracy, you might be interested in a monitor that’s capable of displaying over 1B colors, as you’ll see in our review of the LG 24MD4KL B Ultrafine monitor.

Pros
  • 4K resolution
  • 1500:1 contrast ratio
  • Wide color gamut
Cons
  • Not a curved monitor
  • Below average response time

Performance

Like the BenQ SW2700PT or the BenQ PD3200U gaming monitor, this monitor has a self-calibration feature to help keep the color temperature constant for the user. This monitor, equipped with an IPS panel and hdr gamma support, can make stunning, high-quality visuals that make it great for editing HDR video content with all of the details it can reveal. It could be considered one of the foremost monitors for watching movies! Also, like the BenQ SW2700PT, there’s also software that helps with color calibration: BenQ has the Palette Master Element software while Eizo has the color navigator software.

Viewing Angle

This decent-sized LCD monitor has a wide gamut to further provide a pleasant experience. The PQ curve feature can do more than just help provide a better viewing angle or two: By using PQ gamma, the screen can show accurate post-production details of movies and streaming services. The screen can also be brighter and more consistent among different displays compared to monitors that don’t use the PQ curve standard. However, unlike the Asus Designo Curve MX38VC, it’s not a curved monitor.

Durability

For the price that the buyer pays, it’s thankfully safe to say that the manufacturers haven’t forgotten the importance of stability and the quality of the physical aspects of the monitor, especially since it weighs 38.4 Lbs., being slightly heavier than the BenQ GW2270H despite having a similar slim-looking design. Reviews about the durability have mostly been positive, with one review addressing that the base and stand are quite sturdy, and the handle on the monitor matches that sturdiness to help with portability.

Port/Expandability

This assortment of ports consists of DisplayPorts, USB type C and B ports, and HDMI ports. Some USB ports are the 3.0 ports with fast charging capabilities and file transferring speeds, but there’s also the USB 2.0 standard that’s available for compatibility for older devices if they can’t function using the USB 3.0 ports. Keep in mind that the best way to utilize the resolution of the monitor is to connect it via DisplayPort or USB type C port. While HDMI is more common, it has more limitations compared to the other two port types.

Value

This coloredge monitor is extremely expensive due to the quality of its parts and features. IPS panels in general can be pretty expensive, but they also provide the best color. There’s also the self-calibration sensor, and color support such as Adobe RGB. It also supports various broadcast and cinema preset modes such as DCI, PQ, and more. However, while the anti-glare screen can be brightened to combat external lighting, having a curved screen would have solidified how it can immerse the user into the color quality and any task at hand.

Eizo ColorEdge CG319-4K Wrap Up

While it has a slower response time, making it unsuitable for things such as gaming, this monitor is great with color reproduction and accuracy that unveils details with its high standards of quality. Keep in mind that all of the features it has to offer, it also doesn’t include speakers.
