When it comes to monitors, the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC is one of the larger ones on the market, in both size and performance. Coming in at a price that seems too good to be true, Philip’s gargantuan monitor offers a true ultra HD experience, breaking the norm of typical IPS panels. Displayed on a 16:9 ratio, the colors and darks of this monitor earn its spot on our lists for best monitor for graphic design, best video editing monitor, and best computer monitors.

Why We Like It – Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC

With an enormous screen size, the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC has more than enough screen for the most strenuous of tasks. Alongside high-end features, this monitor leaves little to ask for.

Pros
  • 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio for stunning details
  • Brilliant 4K resolution
  • 43” screen size offers maximum productivity
Cons
  • Monitor may be too large for most workstations
  • Backlight tends to give off shadows

Performance

This behemoth of a monitor can handle any task you can do with a computer. It’s definitely stronger than the Philips 226E9QDSB monitor. Whether it’s editing, gaming, or streaming, it can be done on one screen. The Philips BDM4350UC pushes beyond full HD, its big-screen is more than capable of handling up to four different windows at the same time with picture-in-picture, even displaying two different inputs at the same time. Granted while this does have a higher rate of power consumption than a smaller monitor like the Acer CB282K, it’s not as much as you would think.

Viewing Angle

With this being such a large monitor, it is understandable that the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC doesn’t have much room for versatility. As amazing as it would be to have this monitor stand vertically, understandably that’s not the case. Although limited, the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC’s included stand does feature the ability to slightly tilt. Range of motion wise, that’s about it. However, with the large screen size, there’s not much that needs to be adjusted. With a 178-degree viewing angle on both sides, you’ll always have the best seat in the house. However, if adjustability is paramount in your decision process, the LG 27UD68-W offers a full range of motion with its stand.

Durability

For a screen of this size, it’s fair to feel concerned about the durability of the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC. Although the materials that compose this monitor help make it feel fairly solid, the fact of the matter is that this is a 43-inch monitor, a drop would most likely leave a crack somewhere, ruining the display. Fortunately for those who are worried about the safety of their Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC, it is VESA mountable, and with a few easy steps will securely mount to your wall, eliminating any worry you have about it dropping.

Although, if the fear of dropping your monitor worries you, maybe you need to try something a little more portable. Our review of the Portable Monitor HDR Eye Care screen USB C gaming display is perfect for use on a desk or for portability.

Ports/Expandability

The Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC includes a VGA, two DisplayPorts, HDMI, 2 MHL ports, 4 USB ports, and an audio jack. Thanks to this monitor’s size, it’s easy to fit all the essentials and more when it comes to ports. It’s safe to say that no matter what your preferences are when it comes to display ports, the BDM4350UC will be more than able to accommodate them, even at the same time.

Value

It’s amazing that for $580 you can get a monitor of this size. The value of this deal is second to none, able to do pretty much anything, the only thing you have to be sure of is that your desk will have enough space to support it. For those who want a smaller monitor, the Acer B246WL is an excellent second choice.

Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC Wrap Up

There are both pros and cons when dealing with a monitor the size of the Philips Brilliance BDM4350UC. From a beautiful 4K resolution, 50,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 43-inch screen, the only downside is that the backlight tends to give off some unwanted shadows, still, this proves to be an excellent monitor, and well worth your time.
