The LG 32UK550 is one of the best HDR monitors on the market, as well as one of the best business monitors and the best computer monitors. It displays gorgeous color and even has a Black Stabilizer so darker areas are more clear. You’ll love LG’s picture quality, and especially the price. Plus, you’ll find more PC screens with our best monitors list.

Why We Like It – LG 32UK550

The LG 32UK550 is a great value for a 4K monitor with an anti-glare screen. It works well as a gaming monitor, but it’s also a very nice monitor for work or watching movies. We love the On Screen Control that allows you to adjust the brightness and picture settings without messing with buttons externally on the monitor.

Pros
  • High 4K resolution
  • Affordable
  • Versatile for both gaming and for working from home
Cons
  • 4ms response time is slower compared to other gaming monitors
  • Monitor stand isn’t very stable
  • No USB port

Performance

The LG 32UK550 is a 4K Ultra HD monitor that supports HDR10 and color calibration for a wide color gamut. Radeon FreeSync technology smooths gameplay by eliminating screen tearing and stuttering. Plus, you can create a customized picture mode depending on what kind of game you’re playing, so you always have the smoothest and sharpest graphics. LG’s Dynamic Action Sync minimizes lag, while its Black Stabilizer clarifies dark areas of the screen so you can find your enemies even in the shadows. The 60hz refresh rate and 4ms response time isn’t as great as the ASUS TUF Gaming VG289QM, but it’s still a pretty good-looking monitor for someone who wants to level up their gameplay. Not to mention, one of the best features is the On Screen Control, meaning you can adjust brightness and other screen settings without fiddling with hard buttons on the physical monitor; all your settings are right on the screen!

Viewing Angle

The LG 32UK550 has a VA panel display which makes the viewing angle somewhat poor, as the colors and brightness can get washed out when looking from the side. The monitor does have height and tilt adjustment, so you can get a basic setup, but it’s not quite ergonomic.

Durability

Amazon reviewers noticed that the plastic monitor stand is a bit wobbly. You can, however, wall mount the monitor, which seems to be a bit more stable.

Ports/Expandability

The LG has 1 display port and 2 HDMI ports to support a variety of multimedia devices. Plus, it has a headphone jack so you game without disturbing your roommates. It even has a built-in speaker so you don’t need an external sound system. A display cable and HDMI cable are included.

Value

The LG 32UK550 is a good value at $330, similar in price to the Acer CB282K. It’s a versatile and reliable monitor for light gaming or even working from home, that isn’t as expensive as a higher end, professional gaming monitor. LG does offer a 1-year limited warranty, and the monitor also has an Energy Saving mode which reduces power consumption, that will definitely help with your energy bill.

LG 32UK550 Wrap Up

The LG 32UK550 offers a 4K Ultra HD picture with a very reasonable price tag. It has a fantastic contrast ratio with LG’s Black Stabilizer, and the Radeon FreeSync technology reduces stutter to protect your eyes and keep you in the action. While it is a good-sized 32-inch screen, if you’re looking for more bells and whistles, check out the BenQEW3270U.
