Continuing the same trend, the LG 24MD4KL-B Ultrafine is a slight improvement over its previous models, featuring a bigger screen size, higher resolution, and millions of more colors.

Performance
Supporting 10-bit coloring and 1.07 billion colors, the LG 24MD4KL-B Ultrafine is a superb choice for color-accurate tasks. On top of that, it looks quite impressive with its 5K resolution. And since its display size is 27-inches, pixel density doesn’t stretch beyond its limitation. Picture quality stays intact. Unfortunately, its contrast ratio is only 1100:1, which isn’t only slightly above average, that being 1000:1. Lastly, a 14ms response time is abysmal for gaming, so you’re better off with the Asus TUF VG27AQ for gaming.

Viewing Angle
It isn’t surprising viewing angles are excellent on the LG 24MD4KL-B Ultrafine. Its previous model was, and that’s continued. You can lean 178-degrees in either direction and hardly see any drop in quality to its nano IPS LED screen.

Durability
Metal for the stand, hard plastic for the chassis. The stand is the MVP here, doing an impeccable job supporting the weighty screen. It contrasts with the shakiness you’d experience with a Dell Ultrasharp U2415. Without stands, you can opt for VESA mounting. Ports & Expandability
Sadly, this is strictly a Thunderbolt display. You’ll find 4x USB C Thunderbolt 3 ports and a cutout for the power cable. Since Windows devices tend not to use Type C cable Thunderbolts for video input, connecting to it as an exterior monitor is a pain. Unless you have a MacBook Pro or conversion kit via USB C ports, you’re out of luck. Daisy-chaining can be done via USB Type C Cable, and even used as a power cord for power consumption.
Value
Windows users are better off looking elsewhere for a good monitor, like a Samsung 32 Inch Curved Monitor Costco. Its lack of HDMI and DisplayPort make it a pain to connect Windows devices to it. But for you MacBook Pro users? This is going to be a blast! This is especially true if you’ve been using a small, 15-inch screen for a while, but aren’t ready to upgrade your laptop. You can drop $999 on the LG 24MD4KL-B Ultrafine, spend less, and have a bigger screen. Or, you could get similar features with the LG 27UK650 W 27 inch 4K gaming monitor and spend even less than $400.

Despite being almost exclusively for Mac users, the LG 24MD4KL-B Ultrafine is still an impressive 5K display. It’s hard to stay mad at it when its 1.07 billion colors look so good on a 27-inch screen. Pixel density is on point. Now if only pixel density had been bumped up to 1300:1, then it’d be perfect!
