For a fourteen inch display laptop, the Lenovo Yoga C940 looks like the laptop to rule all others, more than deserving to be categorized with the best laptops. Somehow able to pack in a great performance and battery, all in an easy to carry package, it seems impossible, yet somehow Lenovo seems to have done it, for the right price of course. This convertible laptop features fantastic speakers, fast performance times, all with a light battery life, included in our lists for Best Battery Life Laptops and Best Travel Laptops. The only negatives are inconsequential, such as lack of a SD card slot or issues with getting the pen out. The Yoga C940 Lenovo has easily made it into several of our lists, including Best Touch Screen Laptops, and Best 2 in 1 Laptops. Its features make it a top-rated laptop.

Why We Like It – Lenovo Yoga C940

One of the few laptops that can do it all, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is both versatile and powerful. The tablet mode only increases this laptop’s adaptability.

Pros
  • Excellent speakers
  • Rapid performance
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • No SD card for storage expansion
  • Stylus can be hard to get out

Power/Performance

Straight out of the box the Lenovo Yoga C940 performs nearly on par with the Dell XPS 13 9380. Equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor, the Yoga C940 has no issue handling several programs at once in full HD. In one of the rare instances where the actual unit is the same or even better than the review unit, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is a powerhouse through and through.

Battery

Most laptops in the thin and light category, like the HP Spectre X360, use the Intel Core i5 in an effort to save on battery life. However, the Lenovo Yoga C940 uses a CPU in the Ice Lake line along with Intel Iris plus Graphics, and can still last throughout the whole day, even while using Wi-Fi. Much like the Lenovo Yoga C940, you won’t have to worry about bringing a charging cable, only for intensive programs such as gaming. Take a look at our Lenovo Yoga C930 review for another Lenovo that comes with a super long battery life.

Ports/Expandability

The Lenovo Yoga C940 comes equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB port, headphone jack, and a fingerprint reader. There are no USB C ports, the only USB type being USB A, there is also a lack of a SD card reader, severely reducing your storage options. If the Lenovo Yoga C940 had more ports it would have been perfect, like the Dell XPS 13 2 in 1.

Build Quality

In terms of build quality, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is a solid little machine. Comparable to the LG Gram 15, the Yoga C940 feels durable yet lightweight, its materials adding to the sturdiness of the overall product.

Value

Including features such as Dolby Atmos and a stylus pen to accompany it, the Lenovo Yoga C940 does everything it can to justify its high asking price. For those who need the absolute best in a small size, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is your best bet.

Lenovo Yoga C940 Wrap Up

Powerful, compact, and versatile, the Lenovo Yoga C940 is the ace in Lenovo’s sleeve, being able to do nearly anything without having to worry about weight or a charging cable. Featuring long battery life, excellent speakers, and smooth performance, the negatives here are only minor and inconsequential, such as the pen and SD card slots.
