The MSI GF63 Thin contains an excellent array of features and a competitive price tag to give most budget laptops, and even some higher-end ones, a run for their money. It’s 16GB of RAM means it can run multiple windows with ease, and the Intel Core i5 allows it to run most games without any slowdowns either.

Power/Performance
MSI GF63 Gaming Laptops comes with some serious gaming performance for the price. And this is thanks to the Intel Core i5-9300H CPU GPU, 512GB NVME SSD and 16GB of RAM. If you’d like an Intel Core i7 instead, consider the Acer Predator Helios 300 GTX 1660 TI. It can play games like Overwatch on high settings with ease, but some more graphic-intense titles like Tomb Raider will be a bit more of a challenge. Still, Sims 4 should be no problem on this best SSD laptop.

Battery
One of the downsides of the MSI GF63 is its battery life. This laptop contains a three-cell (51Wh) battery that’s good for about 4-5 hours of high end gaming. But while that may be too little for the intensive gamer, the laptop still doubles well as a laptop for school or the best laptop for business use, as not playing games saves considerable battery life. Ports/Expandability
The right side of the machine has two USB 3.2 ports and a USB Type-C port while the left has a USB 3.2 Type-A port. You also get an ethernet port, mic and headphone jacks, and an HDMI port. Clearly, if you want to do something other than play a game with the laptop, you can. It is expandable too, if you want to play something like Fortnite, but you’ll have to void the warranty. Build Quality
The keyboard on the MSI GF63 Thin is excellent and provides great feedback while key travel is comfortable and wonderful. The display is 15.6 inches and 1080P thanks to the NVIDIA GTX 1650 (Max Q) graphics card. Most of the chassis is also made of metal, which is nice, but the bottom panel is a mixture of both metal and plastic for some variance in both feel and look.
Value
At $699.00, the MSI GF63 is very aggressively priced for a budget gaming laptop. If this is your first gaming laptop and you want to get a feel for them, you won’t go wrong with this one. It’s also very lightweight at 4 pounds making it easier to carry with you if you’re gaming at a friends house or taking it to school. But it’s lackluster battery life, like we mentioned before, is a result of this lightweight. Less laptop means less battery.
MSI GF63 Thin Wrap Up
The MSI GF63 is an excellent budget, or maybe entry is a better word here, level laptop for playing games. This will kill the lackluster battery though, as it’s rated for anywhere between five and six hours. But if you use it mainly as a work or school laptop this issue should disappear. And even if you don’t you probably should take a break from gaming after five hours anyway.
