To review Asus Tuf FX505DT Gaming Laptops means mentioning its versatility as a best laptop for sims 4, best gaming laptop for Fortnite, and best laptops for WOW. These light to medium graphic games should play on the laptop no problem. And if you’re a veteran who’s looking for something new and only really plays these games, why go out and spend more than you need to? Some of the best gaming laptops are affordable.

Why We Like It – Asus Tuf FX505DT

The Asus Tuf FX505DT Gaming Laptop is a great option if you want to enter the world of PC gaming and need to buy your first laptop. The 8GB of RAM means you can run multiple windows without the laptop slowing down and the graphics card is good for all your low to medium end gaming needs.

Pros
  • More Than Enough Ports
  • RGB Keyboard
  • Great 120Hz Display
Cons
  • Poor Battery Life
  • Underwhelming Speakers

Power/Performance

Asus Tuf Gaming Laptops contain a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB graphics card, a Ryzen 7 3750H processor, and a 256GB NVMe SSD storage with 8GB DDR4 RAM. With these specs, the laptop can be considered a best laptop for league of legends and a best gaming laptop for school if you need to double it up. But if you prefer an Intel Core i5 processor or better, try the Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop.

Battery

Asus Tuf Budget Gaming Laptops suffer from the same fate as other gaming laptops. The battery life just isn’t that great. It clocks in at about three hours of continuous use if you’re gaming and probably more if you’re using it for non-gaming related applications. If you want something that will last just a little bit more, see the MSI GF63 Thin.

Ports/Expandability

Entry Level Gaming Laptops usually come with more than enough ports to suit a gamer’s needs, and the same holds true for this laptop too. An interesting design choice here, though, is that all the ports are placed on the left side so the right side can be free of hindrances and makes mouse usage easier. Of those ports mentioned are one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, the power supply, and a headphone jack. You can also check out the Acer Predator Helios 300 GTX 1660 TI for another example of a great port-heavy laptop.

Build Quality

The Asus Tuf FX505DT AH51 Budget-End Gaming Laptops have an RGB Keyboard and easily traceable WSAD keys. The vents are located on the back of the laptop so they won’t pose any inconvenience for day-today gaming or work. And although the casing is made of plastic it still feels durable and can easily take a slight knock or two without problems. The built-in speakers are underwhelming though, so it’s probably better to use headphones for optimal sound.

Value

The laptop can manage frame rates of 60FPS easily if you bring the graphics settings down to medium. Still, at high settings gaming performance can still reach 30FPS comfortably, so no worries there. The display is bright and has an impressive 120Hz refresh rate which, again, makes for great gaming performance. It does tend to get hot on the right side of the keyboard (the heat needs to dissipate somewhere), but at least this is away from the WSAD keys.

Asus Tuf FX505DT Wrap Up

Like most entry-level gaming laptops the Asus Tuf FX505DT suffers from poor battery life. It’s almost a theme among entry-level gaming laptops, and an unfortunate one at that. But at least it’s other gaming features, such as the responsive display, great keyboard, and powerful processor are both gaming and work friendly.
