MSI GS65 Stealth Thin Gaming Laptops are powerful laptops that are not only the best gaming laptops for Fortnite, but also one of the best gaming laptops for any game you want to play. With both excellent gaming and working performance, you can use it for work in the morning and gaming in the evening. Or whenever you have a spare moment.

Why We Like It – MSI GS65 Stealth Thin

The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin delivers fantastic gaming performance in a sophisticated design. The GPU allows for high-quality, consistent frame rate gaming and the combined efforts of the CPU and RAM allos for a constant stream of gaming and 1080P video watching without slowdowns.

Pros
  • Excellent Gaming and Working Performance
  • Great Battery Life
  • 144Hz Refresh Rate
Cons
  • Runs Hot When Gaming
  • Only 720P Webcam

Power/Performance

The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin Review packs a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Max Q GPU, an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD. The graphics card is powerful enough to deliver top-notch gaming performance without frame rate drops and the CPU and RAM can brush off any number of tasks without showing signs of slowing down. Battery

Battery life on gaming laptops are normally sub-standard thanks to the overactive GPU. But this isn’t the case with the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin. Clocking in at five hours and 40 minutes the laptop blows the traditional four hours of life, standard for gaming laptops, out of the water. It does even better than laptops brands that focus almost solely on gaming, such as the Alienware New M15.

Ports/Expandability

Despite the thin frame, the GS65 Stealth Thin still carries plenty of ports. The right side has a USB 3.1 Type-A port, a Thunderbolt 3 port, a Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI, and the power jack. On the left is a pair of USB 3.1 Type-A ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a secure lock slot, a microphone jack, and a S/PDIF jack for high-res audio. See the Acer Predator Triton 500 RTX 2060 for another example of a port-friendly machine.

Build Quality

The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, as its name suggests, is one of the thinnest gaming laptops and one of the lightest, weighing only four pounds. The keyboard, despite having low travel, is comfortable thanks to the springy keys which should still allow you to reach your maximum typing speed. However, the laptop does tend to run quite hot when gaming so be sure to keep it in a well-ventilated area and away from your lap.

Value

Speakers on the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin are above average and deliver an excellent balance of bass, mids, and highs despite being bottom mounted. They’re also quite loud and can easily gill a room. The display comes in standard 1080P but also maintains a 144Hz refresh rate which helps greatly in cutting down screen tears and latency. And while the webcam placement, on top of the bezel, is good, they could have offered something better than 720P considering the price of the laptop.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin Wrap Up

The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin breaks with the theme of gaming laptops and offers great battery life. And this life will only be extended if you use it for work instead of gaming. And while we understand how the features influence the price-tag, we would have appreciated it if the webcam matched the 1080P resolution of the screen.
