Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic Gaming Laptops is a thin and light gaming laptop with a great battery life that’s almost three hours longer than your standard gaming laptop battery. The expansive port selection is great for on-the-go gaming, but make sure you’re in a well-lit area if you are on the go because the panel, though impressive, does tend to run dim. But by any standard, this is one of the best gaming laptops you can carry around for your gaming needs.

Why We Like It – Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic

The Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic, like its cousin the Gigabit Aero Classic XA, is a high performance gaming laptop with competent CPU and customizable GPU to make gaming performance catered to you. The 16GB of RAM also ensures high performance and no slowdowns should you need to find multiple applications running. if you are a creative, designer, or a gamer, one of the best laptops designed for you is featured in our Gigabyte Aero 15 review.

Pros
  • Great Battery Life
  • Expansive Port Selection
  • 240Hz Refresh Rate
Cons
  • Lackluster Speakers
  • Dim Panel
  • Runs Very Hot

Power/Performance

The Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic boasts an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Max Q graphics card. The graphics card is customizable, going from more powerful to less powerful, depending on your gaming needs. You can also check out the Acer Predator Triton 500 RTX 2060 for a computer with a powerful GPU that can play even the most advanced games. Battery

For a gaming laptop, the Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic does exceptionally well in the battery life category. It lasts about seven hours, which is well above the gaming laptop average of three hours. If you’re looking for something with a bit more battery life packed in check this laptop’s cousin, the Gigabyte Aero 15, which should be able to squeeze out at least another hour.

Ports/Expandability

There’s more than enough ports to get you through your day. The left side contains an RJ45 port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, one USB Type C port, and a headphone jack. The right side sports a Kensington lock slot, the power jack, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port and an SD card slot. All your stay-at-home and on-the-road gaming should be supported by the expansive number of ports. See the Asus Rog Zephyrus S Ultra Slim Gaming Laptop for another example of great port selection.

Build Quality

The laptop weighs only four and a half pounds so it’s easier to carry around with you than most other laptops in its class. The RGB lighting on the keyboard is bright, vivid, and completely customizable via the Gigabyte Control Centre’s Fusion tab. However, the bottom-firing speakers are sound hollow and the bass, despite the speakers being bottom-firing, sounds almost muted.

Value

The Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic is powered by Microsoft Azure AI which automatically optimizes the laptop’s gaming performance by adjusting power distribution between the CPU and GPU. The impressive display boasts an incredible 240Hz refresh rate and is 1080P, but the panel itself is on the dim side. Further, the laptop does tend to run hot, so keeping it in a well-ventilated space, and away from your lap, is a must.

Gigabyte Aero 15 Classic Wrap Up

While impressive, the lackluster speakers and dangerously hot gaming experiences hold the Gigabyte Aero 15 back. Hopefully the Gigabyte team adds component fans in their next iteration. The speaker problem can be solved with a good pair of headphones. But with the price of the laptop you’d hope for better speakers so you don’t have to spend extra money on good headphones.
