The Razer Blade 15 Base offers supreme performance with its Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia RTX graphics card to make even the highest-end of games tremble in fear. The 16GB of RAM is another solid touch that allows you to run multiple windows, gaming and YouTube alike, without any slowdowns.

Power/Performance
With an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX Super Max Q (or a GeForce GTX if you’d like to spring for the advanced model) graphics card, the Razer Blade 15 can play most modern games on high performance without dropping frame rates below 30. And when you’re not in a gaming mood the 16GB of RAM can run all applications needed without any slowdown, similar to the Acer Predator Helios 300 GTX 1660 TI.

Battery
Battery life on the Razer Blade 15 Base comes in at just shy of six hours. That may sound low if you’re using, say, a MacBook Pro, but it’s actually quite impressive for a gaming laptop. Gaming laptops often run for an average of about four hours, such as the MSI GF63 Thin. So with a battery life of almost two hours more than average we have to give it commendations even if it is still short of work-related laptop capabilities.

Ports/Expandability
The Razer Blade 15 Base has all the ports you need for on the go or stay at home gaming. On the right is a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB C port, a USB 3.1 A port, an HDMI 2.0 input, a Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and a Kensington lock slot. The left has two additional USB 3.1 A ports, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet port. The laptop may earn the distinction for the most connectivity-inspired gaming laptop, even beating out the Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming Laptop.
Build Quality
The Razer Blade 15 carries Razer’s tradition of a black metal chassis, large touchpad and top-notch speakers. The display has an impressive 144Hz refresh rate and 1080P full hd, but below average brightness which makes colors look a bit saturated. Still, it should be more than enough if you’re looking for a laptop with impeccable gaming performance.
Value
The keyboard keys are pretty bouncy and makes for a smooth typing experience. It only has single-zone RGB lighting though, which is okay, but you would expect more for the price you’re paying. The laptop does come with gaming-focused software, such as Razer Synapse and Razer Cortex, and both applications have gorgeous, easy to use interfaces and loads of useful tools like a Game Booster mode.

The Razer Blade 15 Base Gaming Laptop keeps all of the features you know and love about Razer and packages them in a less-expensive (but still very expensive, oddly) alternative. You’ll still need to make some sacrifices, such as a single-zone RGB keyboard, but you’ll get plenty in return, like an amazing battery life and off the charts port availability.
