When it comes to the best grills, most of them are always extremely heavy and not meant for carrying around everywhere on trips and vacations. But, the Solaire Grill is not like those grills. It keeps its promise of being a portable infrared grill and at the same time provides fantastic performance, making it an excellent choice for those in search of the best infrared grill.

Why We Like It – Solaire Grill

The Solaire Grill is probably one of the only portable grills that can actually be considered portable. The infrared burner in this grill is extremely powerful, and its handles enable users to carry it around anywhere easily. This is definitely one of the better infrared grills out on the market.

Pros
  • High heat cooking up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Stainless steel cooking grates
  • More portable compared to other gas grills
Cons
  • Cleaning troubles
  • It doesn’t work well on uneven surfaces

Power & Heating

This infrared gas grill is especially famous for its high heat cooking. The main infrared gas burner can deliver up to 14000 BTUs of performance, and the infrared nature of this grill alleviates that even more. Despite its BTUs being significantly smaller than the Summerset grill, it can reach temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Granted, that is almost nothing compared to the Char-Broil TRU Infrared Grill 463276016, which is made of the same design as the Northfire Inferno grill. But you gotta consider the fact that it is a full-sized grill, pitted against a portable grill.

Size & Versatility

As we mentioned before, unlike the Magma Grill and a lot of other “portable infrared grills,” this one is actually somewhat portable in reality, not just for the name’s sake. It weighs pretty much about 15 pounds, which should be manageable for bringing it along for camping trips and tailgating. It’s much lighter than the Weber Q140 and its add-on cart.

Durability

Unlike the Royal Gourmet gas grill, the entire Solaire grill is made out of stainless steel. Even the cooking surface and the grilling space are made out of stainless steel, which is a bit of a shame. Enameled Iron cooking grates are much better for infrared gas grills, as they prevent flare-ups. But compared to other infrared grills, this one keeps flare-ups to a minimum.

Ease Of Use

Other than the cleaning process, this high heat grill is extremely easy to use. Just like the Char-Broil TRU Infrared 14101550 grill, it has multiple functionalities inside, despite the small grilling space.

Value

If you need a truly portable infrared grill, this one from Solaire is your best bet. Almost no other infrared grills provide you with this much performance in a small footprint. And it is not that heavy either. So, in our eyes, the Solaire Grill is most definitely worth the money.

Solaire Grill Wrap Up

The Solaire Grill is a phenomenal stainless steel infrared gas grill that puts out a lot of heat. If you’re searching for a high heat portable grill, this is a good one to go for overall.
