One of the things you’re probably looking for when searching for the best grills is safety. To this extent, you’ll want to check out the best infrared grill. If you combine that search with a search for the best rotisserie grill, you’ll more than likely end up considering the Char-Broil Performance TRU-Infrared.

Why We Like It – Char-Broil 463370719

The Char-Broil 463370719 is an impressive mid-range grill that anybody with a family would love to have in their backyard. The side burner is excellent for rotisserie-style grilling, and the infrared technology ensures the safety of you and your family while on the grill. You’ll want to visit our top 2-burner gas grill list if you prefer gas grills instead.

Pros
  • Enough Space for Families or Small Get-Togethers
  • Porcelain-Coated Grates and Body
  • TRU Infrared Technology
Cons
  • Below Average Power
  • Smaller Cooking Surface

Power/Heating

The Char-Broil Burner Gas Grill features 24,000 BTUs spread across three stainless steel main burners and one 10,000 BTU side burner for a total of 34,000 BTUs. It’s not bad until you realize that the main burners are 8,000 BTUs each which is below the 10,000-12,000 average. Still, it should be more than enough to grill what you need to. But if you want more power, consider the DCS Grill.

Size/Versatility

Unlike the Blaze Grill, the primary cooking surface on the Char-Broil is 450 square inches. It’s not the largest we’ve seen, by far, but it is a mid-range unit designed specifically for families, so this is more than enough space. But if you would like something bigger, check out the Weber Summit S-670 LP Gas Grill. The Char-Broil does come with a push-to-start electronic ignition and a swing-a-way warming rack for added versatility.

Durability

The CHar-Broil weighs 105 pounds, which is what we would expect for a grill of its class. It’s about the same as Monument Grills, which are 108 pounds. The stainless steel design of the Char-Broil is what stands out though. The porcelain-coated cast-iron grates ensure durability, but this porcelain-coated finish is present across the entirety of the grill as well.

Ease of Use

The porcelain-coated grates also make them easier to clean and not just more durable. The TRU Infrared Cooking Technology ensures accurate flare-ups for added safety and, combined with the porcelain-coated grates, distributes even heat across the grill for juicier, well-cooked meat. The hood-mounted temperature gauge also makes for accurate temperature control across all the burners.

Value

Honestly, the Char-Broil packs quite a punch for a grill that’s under $500.00. Customer reviews on Amazon are overwhelmingly positive too with a 4.5/5 star rating based on over 601 reviews. It’ll be a little hard to move because it’s only on two wheels, but it doesn’t weigh that much, to begin with. Get a friend to help you and you should be fine.

Char-Broil 463370719 Wrap Up

The Char-Broil isn’t as powerful and isn’t going to be as big as other high-end grills, but that’s okay. It’s a family-style mid-range grill that fulfills that role exceptionally. It’s safe to use, so teaching someone about it is okay, and its durable body and grates should make it useful for years to come.
