Performance

The ScanSnap iX1500 has great performance and quick scanning speed. At up to 30 single-sided pages per minute. One of its nifty features is having pre-programmed routes to send scanned documents to different locations. The standard scanning mode is 600 dpi like the Doxie Go SE. However, iX1500 can go up to 1,200 dpi in excellent mode. The iX 1500 is built around usability and simplicity. The touch screen is easy to navigate and the ScanSnap software is a breeze to use. Scanning from tablets and phones is effortless with the ScanSnap Connect mobile app. And if you’re on the market for a printer for your phone, our review on Prynt prints augmented reality photos right from your phone explains everything.

Design

The iX1500 scanner is designed around functionality instead of looks. The white and grey exterior looks dated, especially compared to the silver Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300i. The ScanSnap iX1500 can detect blank pages and remove them. It can also detect if two or more pages get fed at the same time and stop to let you rectify the issue. The nine-inch document feeder can easily feed A4 size documents and smaller ones too. It can even scan thick documents like passports. The only drawback to the design is the lack of an ethernet port, but this is mitigated by its wireless capability.

Value

Time is money. Because the iX1500 will save you time, it’s worth the money. The high-speed printing, touchscreen, and ScanSnap Home software will ensure that you can spend more time working instead of fiddling with settings. The automatic document feeder holds 50 pages so you won’t be refilling it all the time. ScanSnap scanners have a reputation for reliability and paper jams are generally quite rare. This scanner isn’t as cheap as the Brother DS-620, but it’s miles ahead in terms of features.
