Why We Like It – Asus Chromebook C202

With touch screen support and long battery life, the Asus Chromebook C202 is perfect for on the go work.

Pros
  • Long battery life
  • Durable build
  • Keyboard feels good to use
Cons
  • Heavy for its size
  • Performance isn’t consistent

Power/Performance

Running off the Chrome OS, the Asus Chromebook C202 is not the most powerful laptop in the market. Using an Intel Celeron N3060 CPU, it’s perfect for going online with wi fi for simple productivity tasks. Outside of that the Asus Chromebook C202 struggles with more intensive programs. For those looking for a more powerful laptop, the Acer Aspire E 15 is a good alternative.

Battery

To make up for the middling performance of the Asus Chromebook C202, the laptop has an excellent battery life that’s more than capable of lasting throughout the entire day. Carrying around the Chromebook C202, you won’t have to worry about bringing the charger, Asus’ laptop has more than enough power to last throughout the day, granted as long as you don’t run any intensive programs. Able to last as long as the Toshiba Tecra A50-E, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth when it comes to battery.

Ports/Expandability

The Asus Chromebook C202 comes equipped with two USB ports, HDMI, headphone/microphone jack, SD card slot, security lock slot, and a webcam. All around a decent port selection. However there are no USB C or Thunderbolt ports. For those who need those ports, the Apple MacBook Pro 13 features both USB C and Thunderbolt in its port selection.

Build Quality

For being a laptop that’s meant to be on the go, the Asus Chromebook C202 certainly feels heavier than others in the same market. This helps in its durability, but not so much when it comes to ease of use. Other than that, you can choose to upgrade to have a sleeve case, adding an extra layer of protection alongside the spill resistant keyboard and anti glare screen.

Value

What may be a pro to some and con to others is the ability to easily replace parts of the Asus Chromebook C202. For example, much like the Surface Go, the keyboard on the Asus C202 is replaceable. Able to buy and swap on the fly can be useful, but only for those who truly make the most of it. Most who buy the Asus Chromebook C202 will use the one keyboard provided, unless the need arises where they need to replace it.

Asus Chromebook C202 Wrap Up

Portable and powerful, the Asus Chromebook C202 brings an on the go performance for a price that won’t hurt your wallet. Featuring a long battery life, durable build and a solid keyboard, the only detractions are the iffy performance and weight. Still, the Asus Chromebook C202 can easily get the job done, and can last through the whole day. c
