Few laptops pull off the sleek look of the Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 as well as it does. Easily able to switch from laptop to tablet mode, the Inspiron is versatile and extremely adaptable, making its way to our featured list for Best Laptops. Featuring a slim lightweight design, smooth performance and an adequate port selection, it’s a no brainer that this laptop is featured in our list for Best Laptop for Seniors, despite some issues with the battery and keyboard.

Why We Like It – Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1

Power/Performance

In order to get the best out of your Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1, you must know what model you wish to purchase. The Inspiron comes in several models, each offering a different level of performance, the only question is what you want to do with it. Other than that the 2 in 1 runs smooth as butter, the solid state drive being able to hold quite a lot for a hard drive of its size. However should you wish to get a laptop with more battery, the Acer Aspire E15 is a reliable choice.

Battery

Unfortunately, the Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 is not the best when it comes to battery life, even with the most basic of components in a model, battery deterioration is a serious concern. Should you wish to take it out, be sure to have the charging cable close by. Or if you wish for a laptop with a battery that will last throughout the day, the Toshiba Tecra A50-E is a solid choice.

Ports/Expandability

The Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 comes equipped with a USB C port, two standard USB ports, HDMI and an audio jack. This is a fairly well rounded port selection, featuring a port for just about any want or occasion. If only there was a Thunderbolt port, then it would have really given laptops such as the Apple Macbook Pro 13 a run for its money.

Build Quality

The Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 is a beautiful looking laptop, looking at it there’s no mistaking it for anything else on the market. However this does have a drawback. The keyboard itself, while looking nice, is not so great to type in. Too small and compact, there will be a period of trial and error before you can use it comfortably.

Value

One thing to note about the Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1, different models will give you different performances. What you choose will determine whether your laptop will have an Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or even a Ryzen CPU. If you want to leave the hassle behind and find a one and done laptop alternative, the Toshiba Tecra A50-E is your best bet.

Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 Wrap Up

Sleek and elegant, the Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 offers a minimal laptop that will still get the job done. Even with issues with the battery life and keyboard, the excellent performance, port selection and design more than make up for it. If you’re on the market for a slim laptop for everyday work, the Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 is a strong contender.
