Power/Heating

The Weber Summit Grill Center Natural Gas Grills contains four independently controlled stainless steel burners with 10,000 burner BTU per hour input. It may be lower than the average 12,000 BTUs, but with four burners it adds up to 40,000, even more than the Blackstone 36 Stainless Steel Griddle. The preheat time is only 10-12 minutes too, which is pretty good.

Size/Versatility

The Weber Grill comes in both liquid propane fuel type or natural gas stainless steel. The cooking grate has a cooking area of about 580 square inches which should be more than enough to cook six rib-eye steaks without crowding them. You can also check out this unit’s cousin, the Weber Spirit II, which has a similar-sized grilling center, if a little smaller, with three side burners.

Durability

One of the best things about the Weber Summit Grill Natural Gas Black is that it comes pre-assembled so you can get straight to grilling as soon as you have it. The porcelain-enameled grill retains heat and is very easy to clean. But at 180 pounds it’s definitely not on the easily movable side. Check out the Weber Q1200 for a pick-up-and-go Weber Summit Charcoal Grill-style barbeque.

Ease of Use

The Weber Gas Grill Natural has lighted control knobs for those times a barbeque runs late and you find yourself having to cook in the dark. You should also remember to put some sort of drippings pan under the rotisserie or it will be a pain to clean. As long as you put in some effort to set-up the machine properly it should take no effort at all to clean.

Value

The Weber Summit comes with some nifty add-on features like a sear station burner to really turn up the heat when you’re cooking and the stainless steel flavorizer bars catch drippings that smoke and sizzle and add intense flavor to your food. It’s also backed by a 10-year warranty on all parts. It excludes normal wear and tear, obviously, so use it responsibly!

Weber Summit Wrap Up

While the BTU’s may be lower than average, there’s four of them, and 40,000 BTUs should be more than enough to grill anything you need to perfection. Overall, the Weber Summit is a fine barbecue that’s quick to give you the heat that you need and enough space to cook everything you want!
