Whenever someone sets out to buy one of the best grills, electric grills aren’t exactly something that they look for. But in reality, electric grills are pretty much some of the more efficient grills available out there. And the Weber Q2400 handily proves that. At its price point, it has a real potential to be both the best portable grill and the best electric grill out on the market.

Why We Like It – Weber Q2400

Open flame grills are prohibited in a lot of areas. If you’re living in a similar place, getting electric grills would make much more sense than getting a charcoal or propane one. And if you have 320 bucks to spend, the Weber Q2400 is a fantastic grill to opt for.

Pros
  • It goes up to 575 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Glass-reinforced nylon frame
  • Porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates
Cons
  • Some units have defective heating elements

Power & Heating

As usual with electric grills at this price, the Weber Q2400 also comes with infinite heat control settings. Paired with a 1560-watt electric heating element, it’s incredible even for high-volume cooking. It can go as high as 575 degrees Fahrenheit, but your performance may vary. Some units actually have a defective electric heating element, severely affecting the maximum temperature. If you don’t like that, a propane grill like the Weber Q1200 would be a much better option for you.

Size & Versatility

Even though the Coleman RoadTrip 285 slightly edges it out in terms of the overall cooking area, 280 square inches cooking area is pretty much some of the best you can find at this price. That’s the same size as the Zojirushi indoor grill, which is quite powerful. And the Weber Q2400 provides that while being portable, which would make it a fine camping grill.

Durability

Unlike the Weber Smokey Joe Grill, every part of the Weber Q2400 is very durably built. The porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, the glass-reinforced nylon frame, and the cast aluminum lid are made very well. If you take care of it, it should last for quite a while.

Ease Of Use

While it might be great in all the other aspects, it’s not the most comfortable grill to operate. For a portable grill, it’s very heavy, to begin with. The cast aluminum lid doesn’t have any heating element on it. There also isn’t any temperature gauge on it that can provide temperature readouts. At this price, this exclusion really is unacceptable.

Value

Even though there are some QOL improvements to be made, the Weber Q2400 1560 watt electric grill is terrific overall. No other electric grills are indeed as powerful as this one at this price. That’s why we can most definitely say that spending 320 bucks for the Q2400 1560-watt electric grill is worth it.

Weber Q2400 Wrap Up

The Weber Q2400 electric grill offers excellent power and heating capabilities for a portable electric grill. But if you look past the electric grills into the propane and charcoal grill market, there are a lot of alternatives to be found for cheaper prices.
