This monochrome, high performing printer from HP allows you to print, scan, copy or fax without much of a hassle. It also has a 2-line LCD screen that comes with a keypad, and an input tray that can hold up to 260 sheets. The HP Laserjet also supports automatic duplex printing, which is great for reducing the amount of paper that you get to use. Being a laser printer, you can expect it to work far much faster than an inkjet would, making it fit for a busy small office where things need to get done fast. These, among other reasons you’ll find out in this M148DW review, make it a great choice as the best all in one printer you can buy.

Why We Like It – HP LaserJet Pro M148FDW

The HP LaserJet Pro may be a bit clunky at first, but it does a hell of a job when it comes to your prints. At a print speed of 28 pages per minute, and an automatic document feeder that takes in up to 35 sheets, you’ll be sure to get your work done efficiently, and without any compromise on print quality. However, if you want a duplex printer that has a slightly higher printing speed, it may be worthy to read this Hp Laserjet Monochrome Two Sided 4pa41a review.

Pros
  • Fast printing speeds
  • Great print & image quality
  • Fast document feeder
Cons
  • No color printing
  • Slow scanning

Performance

The HP LaserJet Pro MFP is a great pick if you’re looking for good speedy performance. It averages around 28 pages per minute when printing a text-only document, and 19.1 pages per minute if your print out includes a lot of graphics and illustrations. Its copy and scan speeds are a bit slow but still up to par. Its speed when doing copies is about 12.4 pages per minute, and it averages 10.5 pages per minute when scanning. It also features duplex printing unlike the HP OfficeJet 3830.

Design

The LaserJet Pro measures 12.3 by 15.9 by 16 inches, weighs about 21 pounds, and only comes in the color white. It does not have a touch screen like the HP ENVY 5055, but it’s 10-key control panel should allow you to do whatever you need done. This HP printer also has decent connectivity capabilities, as it is able to receive tasks from your mobile device through apps such as HP Smart App, directly through Wi-Fi Direct, or through cloud print services like Google Cloud. If you’ll have no choice but to use a USB cable to connect it to your computer, the printer HP does indeed have a port for that. Value

The LaserJet Pro MFP M148FDW happens to be part of Amazon’s Dash program, where if the printer detects low ink levels, it is able to automatically make an order from Amazon at cost that’s 10% cheaper than what you’d pay over the counter. In addition, the printer’s automatic document feeder can hold up to 35 sheets for automatic printing, but the Brother Monochrome Laser Printer can handle twice that capacity making it the better choice for large volume work.

HP LaserJet Pro M148FDW Wrap Up

To be satisfied with the MFP M148FDW printer, you’ll have to contend with the fact that you won’t be doing any color work printed. Other than that, it makes for a great office companion that is sure to meet your paper processing needs.
