An HP OfficeJet Printer review should focus on the amount of interesting features it says for an inexpensive, top-rated printer. Features not many printers at this price range would have, such as an ADF and the fine print quality. These come at a cost, though. Mostly print speed. Why We Like It – HP OfficeJet 5255

The HP OfficeJet 5255 Color Inkjet Printer prints high-quality scans and is perfect for a small office, home office, and family environment. By signing up for the company’s Instant Ink Program you can also save a bundle (seriously, it’s amazing how much you save) on running costs, and the apps at your fingertips mean you have many more ways to edit your prints! For those who prefer duplex printing, this Hp Officejet 5255 review may be a worthy read.

Pros
  • Excellent Print Quality
  • Automatic Document Feeder
  • Versatile Selection of Apps
Cons
  • One Small Paper Input Tray
  • Average Print Speeds
  • ADF Doesn’t Support Duplex Printing

Performance

The OfficeJet 5255 is rated at 10 pages per minute for monochrome prints and seven pages per minute for color printing. This is a fairly standard print speed for a desktop printer. If you require something faster, try the Brother Monochrome Laser Printer. The printer can store 100 plain sheets of paper or 20 pieces of premium quality photo paper. The print quality is excellent, with little to no graininess or other issues that can be chalked up to poor resolution. However, if you would want a faster printer, check out the Hp Officejet Pro 8620 e All-in-One Printer review.

Design

The HP OfficeJet 5255 contains a 35-page automatic document feeder for sending multiple documents to the scanner, a standard feature in sn All-in-One Printer nowadays. The OfficeJet 5255’s basic connectivity features include wi fi, USB 2.0, and wireless direct. Once again, you’ll be given reign of apps including HP Smart App and HP Photo Creations, an easy and light photo editor. The HP Envy 5055 also contains a plethora of apps you can download once connected and even works with Amazon Alexa, so check it out too when you get a chance.

Value

Unfortunately, the OfficeJet 5255’s ADF doesn’t support duplex printing, so consider the HP OfficeJet 3830 if you require a two-sided printer. If you sign up for HP’s Instant Ink Program, and we greatly recommend you do, you’ll save on running costs by having discounted ink cartridges delivered directly to you when ink is low. In fact, if you don’t sign up for the Instant Ink Program, you could be paying upwards of 8 cents per monochrome page and an unfair 21 cents per coloured page!

HP OfficeJet 5255 Wrap Up

HP really seems to like taking high-end features and putting them into their inexpensive models. Features like high-end print quality and an ADF aren’t normally found here, so it’s a breath of fresh air to see them included. These do come at the cost of print speed, though. But if you’re only using it in a small office or home, you’ll get used to it in no time.
