Speed

The Canon Pixma MG3620 Wireless Printer isn’t really a speed demon when it comes to printing. However, even at an average of 6.4ppm, it’s still serviceable as a best printer for students. The wireless printing is still appreciated from this best home wireless printer, since it saves you time hooking up your computer physically to a printer. But if you do need something faster but still want a best inkjet printer, check out the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015. You can also check out the Canon Print Inkjet Selphy if you’re looking for a speedy best printer for art prints too!

Print Quality

The printer uses dye (black cartridge) and pigment (color cartridge) inks. On plain paper, the black ink cartridges produced sharp texts, but with a little splotching. On high-quality inkjet paper, results were book worthy. Printing graphics and photos on select Canon photo paper, like the Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, was equally high-quality and alluring. Great news for those of you looking for a best printer for cardstock, you can also check out the HP Designjet T120.

Efficiency

The cost per page for Canon Pixma MG3620 Inkjet Printers is 10.6 cents for monochrome pages and 24 cents per page for color which averages out to a whopping 17.3 cents per page. You can buy your Canon ink cartridges in XL and XXL sizes though, which does bring the cost down a little bit, but would still average around 15 cents per page. Consider the Brother Inkjet Printer MFC-J985DW if you’re looking to save in running costs.

Advanced Features

The Canon MG3620 Photo Paper Printer offers a wide-array of mobile device printing options: Apple AirPrint for Mac OS X, Google Cloud Print, and Mopria for Android Devices. Researching compatibility and features ahead of time never hurts, like if you’re a Mac user and are looking for printers for Mac. The printer connects via wi fi but there’s no word if it has wi-fi direct which enables the printer to act as its own hotspot if your network goes down which wireless printing requires.

Value

The Canon Pixma MG3620 Printer, black, actually comes in two other colors which are white and red. You don’t really see printers come in anything else other than black or white, so it’s a breath of fresh air when it’s included. The paper tray has a 100 sheet capacity, which is pretty normal, but there’s no separate tray to act as a photo paper or document feeder.

Canon Pixma MG3620 Wrap Up

Bottom line, the Canon Pixma MG3620 will print high quality photos and high quality tests as long as you’re using high quality paper. Not to say that regular paper won’t suffice. It’s still serviceable, but you’ll be able to see a difference. And combining this with the high running costs will make this an expensive printer to manage.
