Why We Like It – LG 27UD58-B
The LG 27UD58-B manages to provide UHD 4K, lovely color accuracy, and smooth gaming performance, all the while running with a price tag that’s hard to believe until you see it with your own eyes. Performance
If you want the most out of your PS4 Pro, you need three features: 4K, 60Hz, and HDR. Out of the three, the LG 27UD58-B has two: 4K and 60Hz. Out of the three, those two features are the most important.
The LG 27UD58-B found a sweet spot with its screen size and UHD resolution; displaying 4K on a 27” gaming monitor is perfect. You might think 60Hz is low until you realize the PS4 is limited to 60 frames. If it’s your PC gaming monitor, AMD FreeSync will reduce screen tearing and stuttering should your rig dip below 60Hz.
Lacking HDR, an IPS panel was used to provide 10-bit color depth, but not true 10-bit. Instead, 8-bit is combined with FRC. In this particular model, it pushes to 99% of the sRGB color space. What that means for you is it isn’t HDR, but it gets you that much closer to accurate color recreation in your games or editing software. This does come with a cost of a slower response time of 5ms.”

Design
Unfortunately, the LG27UD58 looks and feels slightly cheap with a matte black finish over plastic. It’s thick bezels don’t lend well to a multi-display setup. However, it comes with excellent ergonomic adjustments such as tilt, swivel, height adjustment, and 90 degree pivoting.
Speakers on the LG 27UD58-B are of poor quality, lacking the right amount of bass and treble. This is easily rectified by the headphone jack in the back, which are accompanied by two HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort. These are more streamlined connectivity options than the Acer R240HY 24” monitor.”

Value
Considering what you get from the LG 27UD58-B, it has excellent pricing compared with the Asus VG245H 24” monitor. Sure, the LG 27UD58-B doesn’t have HDR like the LG 27UK650-W, but its IPS panel provides great picture quality without breaking the bank. You still get UHD and 60Hz, both of which are two of the three main features you need to get top-notch quality out of the PS4. And it still serves as a great entry-level gaming monitor for 4K gaming on a PC thanks to AMD FreeSync.
LG 27UD58-B Wrap Up
For what it’s worth, the LG 27UD58-B is a great option for nearly maximizing the capabilities of a PS4 Pro. It pushes 4K, has a refresh rate of 60Hz, and outputs a beautiful array of colors that brings it close to HDR without the hefty price tag. Though its speakers are poor, and plastic makes this LG monitor feel and look cheap, its features certainly make up for it.
