When it comes to quality, LG is a brand that many trust. This trust is proven to be well placed with the LG 27UD68-W. This gaming monitor is above other competition, while others come with a full HD resolution, the 27UD68 goes above with an ultra HD resolution. Paired with accurate colors, people found that this monitor is also great for those who work in the creative field. With all these features, the LG 27UD68-W easily comes in on our list of Best Monitor for Graphic Design and also the Best Gaming Monitor. Does it feature on our list of the best computer monitors? Why We Like It – LG 27UD68-W

The LG 27UD68-W is a behemoth of a monitor to put it simply. With 4K resolution, rapid response time, and profound screen control, this is a great monitor that will give you the ultimate gaming experience.

Pros
  • Gorgeous 4K resolution
  • Monitor settings to finetune your picture
  • Able to produce 1.07 billion dollars
Cons
  • Monitor stand isn’t fully adjustable
  • Not VESA compatible

Performance

With the LG 27UD68-W being a gaming monitor, it’s expected that a monitor of this caliber perform well above expectations. The LG screen does not disappoint when it comes to color accuracy, earning a 99% sRGB rating. Alongside being able to run at 60hz and having a dedicated game mode, there’s nothing stopping buyers from getting the best gaming experience. Plus with the addition of AMD Freesync, games will look the absolute best with frame rates that are only limited by the power of your PC.

Viewing Angle

The LG 27UD68-W does have an excellent display, however it’s limited by the stand included with it. Monitors, especially the more popular gaming monitors like the Acer CB282K, have freely adjustable stands that can support several positions. If not they offer VESA support so you can mount it onto a wall. Unfortunately, the 27UD68-W delivers on none of those aspects. While offering neither VESA compatibility nor adjustability, LG’s monitor does offer fantastic viewing angles, it is a negative that you can only view it at one point, not being able to adjust it how you see fit.

Durability

Another problem that plagues the LG 27UD68-W is once again the stand. Perhaps even worse than the fact that it’s unable to be adjusted or be mounted with VESA, is the matter of the stand itself. The previously mentioned problems would be forgivable if the stand itself was solid, which if unfortunately not the case. Several people including myself have reported that the base that comes included with the LG 27UD68-W is flimsy, and can barely support the monitor, this is a disappointing development. Especially considering how great the picture of the 27UD68-W is. A monitor that has a much more solid stand is the Acer B246WL.

Ports/Expandability

The LG 27UD68-W comes equipped with two HDMI ports and Displayport. It is an odd choice to exclude USB slots, however there is a workaround. For example, for those who want to use their monitor to display their Macbook pro, you would just need a HDMI to USB C converter, making use of the extra port. However, should you need more USB ports, the Iiyama G-MASTER GB2888UHSU has them in spades.

Value

While there is no doubt that $500 is a lot to ask for for a gaming monitor, at the very least it has free shipping. Humor aside the LG 27UD68-W is more than worth the price. It features a phenomenal screen with fantastic colors. The only detrimental quality of this monitor is that the stand for the monitor is lackluster compared to the rest of the unit.

LG 27UD68-W Wrap Up

All in all, the LG 27UD68-W is a must buy, even with the less than stellar stand. The fact that this monitor can run at 4K, 60hz, all while producing over a billion colors is a phenomenal feat that should not be underestimated. To those who need a new monitor, whether it be for gaming or graphic design, the LG 27UD68-W is a standout choice.
