With a screen size of 27 inches, the compact LG 27UK650-W IPS monitor fits the bill as one of the best monitors for Xbox One X. Why, you ask? Well, picture quality is top notch thanks to gaming features such as Black Stabilizer which reveals great detail in dark scenes, and a low input lag of 9ms for fast paced gameplay. Why We Like It – LG 27UK650-W

The LG 27UK650-W’s support for AMD FreeSync technology & HDR content make it a great choice for Xbox One gamers, and its 350-nit peak brightness level coupled with its 4K Ultra HD resolution mean you get sharp, vibrant colors. It’s a very affordable alternative for a gaming monitor.

Pros
  • Low input lag of 9ms
  • HDR content supported
  • Great SDR peak brightness at 350 nits
Cons
  • No USB-C port
  • No speakers

Performance

In terms of performance, the LG 27UK650-W is slightly better than the BenQ PD3200U. Its 5ms response time guarantees that there’s no motion blur, and its variable refresh rate of upto 60Hz also helps reduce screen tearing in games. Image quality is impressive thanks to a decent 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and with 99% coverage of the sRGB color gamut, it covers almost all the available color space thereby allowing the gaming monitor to have a very high color accuracy

Design

Aesthetically speaking, the LG 27UK650-W is quite pleasant to look at; much better than the Asus MG28UQ. Its thin bezel gives it a premium appearance, and its matte black front & white back make it stand out in any room. Wall mounting is also possible thanks to its 100 X 100 VESA armature. If placed on a table stand, however, the display can be tilted to the front or back, & the display height adjusted to the user’s preference.

Value

Being an IPS monitor that’s affordably priced compared to the Viewsonic XG3220, the LG 27UK650-W delivers a lot more value than it’s worth. Its 4K resolution and HDR content support make it an ideal choice for graphic designers, and its fast refresh rate, fast response time, & low input lag make it great for gaming. At 178 degrees, its wide viewing angles make it perfect for both office use & multimedia viewing.

LG 27UK650-W Wrap Up

The LG 27UK650-W‘s looks good and has great features to boot, but the 27″ screen size might not be big enough, especially for multimedia viewers who would opt to mount their display on a wall. It also doesn’t have a USB-C type port, but does spot 2 HDMI & 1 display ports. Overall, it is a great monitor to have, & should satisfy your display needs without leaving a hole in your wallet.
