Any fan of HDR content will appreciate the good bargain they’ll get with the BenQ EW3270U since HDR support is a feature normally reserved for more expensive monitors, but is present in this one. If you want a slightly smaller monitor instead, take a look at our Viewsonic VX2252MH review. On top of that, this HDR monitor also has a wide color gamut for a sharp, rich image, and a high 3000:1 contrast ratio that makes it suitable for dark room viewing. These kinds of features easily qualify it to be one of the best monitors for Xbox One X. Speaking of features, find out the kinds of features you get when you purchase one of the best computer monitors around.

Why We Like It – BenQ EW3270U

Given that BenQ as a brand isn’t that well known by most people, features such as an Ultra High Definition 4K Resolution, a 3000:1 high native ratio for deep blacks and High Dynamic Range imaging (HDR) support for increased color detail make the BenQ EW3270U monitor worth a second look.

Pros
  • 4ms response time for smooth images & reduced ghosting
  • B.I.+ Sensor for automatic brightness adjustment
  • HDR content supported
Cons
  • Low 60hz refresh rate
  • Poor ergonomics

Performance

Just like the LG 27UK650-W, the BenQ EW3270U really puts a lot of emphasis on color, and we can see that through its 95% DCI-P3 color standards coverage. Being a VA panel, the entertainment monitor has a good response time of 4ms, making it suitable for gaming on consoles like the Xbox One. The BenQ EW3270U also has a few protective features built into it. These are: its Eye Care technology for low blue light emissions and reduced eye discomfort, as well as its Brightness Intelligence Plus technology for adjusting screen brightness based on ambient conditions and screen content

Design

Compared to the BenQ PD3200U, the BenQ EW3270U doesn’t really shout too much in terms of design. The 30 inch screen is surrounded by thin bezels, and you’ll also notice vents along the monitor’s borders for heat to escape through. Despite it’s screen size, the horizontal viewing angle is just ‘okay’ at 178 degrees, but the ergonomics are quite poor since you can’t tilt the monitor while on a stand. You do get a VESA wall mount at the back, but there are no measures in place for cable management

Value

As proven in this monitor review, the BenQ EW3270U is definitely a jack of all trades, but unfortunately a master of few. It’s wide color gamut allows for exceptional HDR gaming through HDR mode & has a few features to reduce eye strain making it great for long gaming sessions, but only if the low 60hz refresh rate can be overlooked. It also doesn’t have a flexible tilt and swivel stand like the Asus MG28UQ, but the brightness intelligence technology makes it great for long working sessions at the office, and the two HDMI & USB-c ports make it a great purchase for media creation.

BenQ EW3270U Wrap Up

The BenQ EW3270U is sure to keep your eyes safe thanks to its B.I plus technology, but gamers won’t be too impressed with the ‘okay’ viewing angles and bad ergonomics. Also, with plenty of better looking monitors in the market, the EW3270U might just lose out on customer interest based on looks and not features. All in all, it is a great multipurpose monitor that can fit most if not all your needs.
