If you’re looking for the best TV for seniors, check out the Insignia 55 Inch TV. The Roku smart features are incredibly easy to set up and use, so you can easily change the show with your voice or even your smartphone. And you can’t beat its gorgeous 4K picture quality. Speaking of quality, check out our review of some of the best TVs on the market.

Why We Like It – TCL 55S425

The TCL 55S425 Roku TV works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant so you can change the channel with just your voice. Roku is one of the best smart TV features, which is very easy-to-use.

Pros
  • Roku smart features are easy-to-use
  • Very affordable
  • Dedicated gaming mode
Cons
  • Narrow viewing angle
  • Audio levels too low

Performance/Display/Resolution/Refresh

The TCL 55S425 with Roku has a 4K UHD resolution and gorgeous picture quality, a great addition to your home theater. It’s compatible with HDR TV content, so you can watch your favorite TV shows with full high dynamic range. Its Creative Pro Upscaling technology lets you watch older high definition content in almost 4K resolution. It even has a 60hz refresh rate for watching sports without motion blur, as well as a dedicated game mode for playing video games with very little input lag. One major drawback is the limited viewing angle; if you sit too far to the side of the TV, you’ll see a bit of glare. Another drawback is that it does not support Dolby Vision content or have local dimming, but it does support HDR10. Compare its picture quality to a similarly sized model, the Samsung 55 Inch 4K TV.

Sound

This TCL has built-in speakers with Dolby Digital audio that are fairly good. Amazon reviewers do say, however, that the audio levels aren’t high enough, and you mighty want to purchase an external soundbar for better audio quality.

Smart Features

The TCL 4 Series has Roku smart TV features built-in, which are incredibly easy-to-use. It combines all of your favorite streaming services (like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video) into one handy guide, and you can even use your voice to play your favorite TV shows and movies. You can even download the Roku app to your smartphone. And if you don’t like Roku, this TV has plenty of ports for you to plug in your Amazon Fire TV stick. The TCL is a great addition to any smart home. Compare its smart features to the Sony X950G.

Ports/Expandability

This TCL has 3 HDMI ports, 1 USB port, composite, and optical audio out ports. It also has an ethernet port and wifi built-in for easy internet setup. You can have your cable box, DVD player, gaming consoles, and flashdrive all plugged in at once, which is incredibly useful if you like switching between tech. Lots of Amazon reviewers also used this TV as a computer monitor, so there are enough ports for this TV to be very flexible.

Value

A relatively unknown brand of TVs, TCL is still a great TV for being so budget-friendly. A 4K TV for $363 is a pretty good deal, especially for smart TVs and TCL offers a 1 year limited warranty. If you need a basic TV that’s very easy-to-use, then TCL is definitely for you. But if you need more bells and whistles, maybe check out our LG C9 OLED TV review.

TCL 55S425 Wrap Up

A fantastic smart LED TV, the TCL 4 Series Roku TV has a great picture quality for a great price tag. Roku TVs are very easy-to-use, and this TCL even has voice control compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Compatible with HDR content, your favorite TV shows will look great on the TCL S425.
