Performance (Display/Resolution/Refresh)
You’ll get the ideal picture whether you’re watching live TV shows or playing video games, thanks to the 4K UHD display. The Crystal display with HDR only has a refresh rate of 60hz, but gaming won’t be a problem as this TV automatically engages the gaming mode, which reduces input lag and prevents motion blur. It also uses Dolby Vision technology to achieve a better picture (another TV with Dolby Vision technology is the LG CX OLED). It doesn’t have an expanded viewing angle, but this shouldn’t be a major setback, simply because of the size of the screen.

Sound
The Samsung 8 Series TV has built-in speakers, but as usual, they receive mixed reviews. Thankfully, Samsung also sells this TV with a soundbar, so you get a choice between the internal speakers, the Q60T soundbar, the T450 soundbar, and the T650 soundbar. The TV has digital audio output and Bluetooth, but falls short vs. Samsung TVs with a 3.5mm jack, because the lack of a headphone output somewhat limits your audio options. Still, if you have connected devices via HDMI, this TV does support HDMI ARC, so you won’t be completely out of luck!

Smart Features
With built-in Amazon Alexa (another TV that works with Amazon Alexa is the Sony XBR65X900F), Bixby, and a smart interface powered by Tizen, this TV can easily be operated with or without the remote control. It has a wide variety of streaming service apps available to ensure you will never run out of content, in addition to the digital tuner. Even the video quality benefits from smart features, as non-4K content is upscaled to 4K-level with AI. It even has a web browser if you’d rather browse on the big screen than on your smartphone.
Ports & Expandability
This Samsung TV only has 3 HDMI inputs, unlike many other TVs that have 4, so if you want more you will have to purchase an HDMI splitter. It also has 2 USB ports, Bluetooth, and Digital Optical Out, but it lacks the standard 3.5mm headphone jack we’ve come to know and love. Oddly enough, it doesn’t have any Chromecast capabilities despite supporting Apple Airplay, but that shouldn’t be a huge issue because you can watch pretty much anything using the built-in apps.
Value
The Samsung 8 Series TV is much cheaper than other 65” TVs like the Sony A8H OLED, which costs a whopping $2,298.00! This TV will only set you back $677.99, making it a great deal for the price. It comes with a stand, but you can use it without stand via wall mounting (which will have to be purchased separately!). There isn’t a warranty offered, but you can get a 3-year protection plan for an additional $69.99. This TV receives good reviews, scoring 4.6 out of 5-stars based on 9,961 Amazon ratings.
