If you’re looking for the best 1080p TV, you should consider the All-New Toshiba 43LF421U21 43-inch Smart HD 1080p TV. It’s the Fire TV Edition released in 2020, and comes included with an Alexa voice remote so you can change your TV show with just your voice. Its features and design, make it one of the best TVs on the market right now.

Why We Like It – All-New Toshiba 43LF421U21 43-inch Smart HD 1080p TV

The All-New Toshiba 43LF421U21 43-inch Smart HD 1080p TV comes with an Alexa voice remote that allows you to change your show with just your voice. It has built-in wifi and a fast CPU processor for fast search results, which makes its features stand out from the crowd.

Pros
  • Voice Remote with Alexa included
  • Built-in CPU for fast search results
  • Easy access to streaming services
Cons
  • HD antenna sold separately
  • Remote control has no numbers and voice controls can be confusing to use
  • Base legs aren’t very stable

Performance/Display/Resolution/Refresh

The Toshiba 43LF421U21 is a full HD Smart TV. It has a bright LED display for beautiful picture quality, as well as a 60hz refresh rate. It has a quad-core CPU built-in for fast search results and downloading apps and streaming services. However, Amazon reviewers do say the TV is harder to set up than many other Smart TVs, so it’s best for people with a lot of technical ability. The Toshiba has a fairly basic 1080p TV quality, and others like the Samsung Electronics UN32N5300AFXZA 32″ 1080p Smart LED TV have better picture quality for a similar price.

Sound

The Toshiba 43LF421U21 has DTS Virtual X sound, which is decent audio quality. However, many Amazon reviewers note that the sound is not always loud enough, and you might want to purchase a separate sound bar for better sound quality.

Smart Features

The Toshiba 43LF421U21 TV is actually the Fire TV Edition with Alexa skills included. It’s easy to tell which movies and shows you’ve already watched, and you can connect hundreds of apps and streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and many more. Other TVs like the Sony X900E support Alexa, but what makes the Toshiba unit stand out is its included Alexa remote control so you can easily control your TV with just your voice. However, you do need to pay for Amazon Prime if you want to use its full set of video services.

Ports/Expandability

This Toshiba has 3 HDMI ports for gaming consoles and other inputs, as well as a USB port to view pictures and videos saved on an external flash drive. It also has wifi built-in so you can easily access streaming services and download updates. The one downside is that you have to purchase an HD antenna separately if you want to watch live TV.

Value

At $280, the Toshiba 43LF421U21 is decently priced for a 1080p TV, and is cheaper than many others. However, since an HD antenna and Amazon Prime subscription are not included, the extras that you’ll need to purchase to use this TV do add up. There are other 1080p TVs that have similar features at cheaper prices, like the LG 22LJ4540 TV.

All-New Toshiba 43LF421U21 43-inch Smart HD 1080p TV Wrap Up

The Toshiba 43LF421U21 is an okay TV at an okay price. It works well with other Amazon and Alexa products, and the voice remote is a great addition. If you have a lot of technical ability, you will be able to set it up no problem, but it’s not recommended for anyone who’s not already tech-savvy.
