The Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP can run for about 25 miles on a single battery charge, and probably even more if the regenerative braking system deems it necessary to add more fuel to the battery. Charge time may be a little long at 6.5 hours, but that’s perfect overnight charging time. Why We Like It – Segway Ninebot MAX Electric

The Segway Ninebot MAX Electric comes equipped with a powerful 367 inch motor as well as 10 inch pneumatic tires which work to provide you with both a smooth riding system and comfortable cruising. The regenerative braking system allows the scooter to distribute power where it needs it most giving you the extra boost you might need.

Pros
  • 25 Mile Range
  • Three Different Riding Modes
  • 18.6 MPH Top Speed
Cons
  • 6.5 Hour Charge Time
  • Takes 3 Clicks to Fold

Performance

The Segway Ninebot Kickscooter MAX can reach a max speed of 18.6 MPH which is perfect for your travels to and from work every day. If you want something much faster, check out the Nanrobot D5+. The Segway Ninebot MAX Electric also has a hill grade of 20%, which is the highest we’ve seen for an electric scooter so far. Finally, the scooter closely monitors the battery life to ensure battery safety and alert you if there’s a problem. A slightly different version that weighs 27.6 pounds and has a one-click folding system is featured in our Segway ninebot kickscooter ES2 review.

Safety

The Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Scooter comes equipped with 10 inch Pneumatic Tires which combines features of both comfort and shock absorption to provide a comfortable and safe ride. Three different riding modes can be accessed via the LED screen depending on terrain and riding needs for a safer journey, and the LED screen is bright enough to act like a brake light in the dark! You can also check out an electric scooter that weights 52 pounds with a max speed of 18 mph in our SKRT electric scooter review.

Battery Life

The Segway Ninebot MAX E Scooter has a nominal battery capacity of 367 Watts. This gives it an approximate 25 mile range depending on weather, battery remaining, and other factors. It also features fast charging capabilities which allows the battery to charge in about 6.5 hours. Among the best electric scooters this is still pretty long, so take a look at the Glion Dolly Foldable Lightweight Adult Electric Scooter for an almost half charge time.

Durability

One of the main drawbacks of the Segway Ninebot MAX Electric is that it takes three clicks to fold and be portable while most other electric scooters only need one. Still, once folded it’s lightweight, portable, and easily storable. It’s made from aluminum, which is pretty standard for electric scooters, but we wish they made it out of something even slightly more durable, like aerospace magnesium, as some manufacturers do.

Value

The braking system on the Segway Ninebot MAX Electric is called a regenerative electric brake. This effectively turns the scooter into an electric vehicle powered by electricity and recycled riding energy. Energy is collected when braking and distributed where it’s needed most giving you that extra boost your scooter needs to make it through the day. Of course, if you don’t mind waiting to get home to plug it in, check out the Razor Ecosmart Metro Electric Scooter.

Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Wrap Up

The Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Scooter is a great choice if you’ve been thinking about getting a scooter but don’t know which one to get. Segway is a known brand, and it’s scooter provides you with safe riding thanks to its three riding modes and max speed of 18.6 MPH. It may take a little more effort to fold it up, which can be annoying if you’re trying to catch a subway or bus, but what’s a few clicks over safety?
