One of the things Gymax points out that other electric scooters don’t is the quietness of their motor. If you have a kid who loves playing with a motorized scooter, then your neighbors will greatly appreciate this. It’s one of the top reasons we decided to name the Gymax Electric Scooter a best electric scooter with seat, among lots of other reasons.

Why We Like It – Gymax

Gymax Electric Scooters offers a modest 7.5 MPH top speed which will be great for parents who want to make sure their kid isn’t scooting around recklessly and the hand-operated rear brake makes it so that the electric scooter doesn’t go flying forwards if you need to brake suddenly.

Performance

The Gymax Electric Scooter offers a rather low top speed of 7.5 MPH but offers a very quiet motor, which should make your neighbours happy. If you want something faster, consider the SKRT Electric Scooter. The motor, in addition to being so quiet, is also chain-driven meaning it feels like a bike with a motor and also means replacing any internal parts should be a breeze.

Safety

The Gymax Electric Scooter comes with a hand-operated rear brake which is great because the scooter won’t go flying forward if you’re forced to stop suddenly. The wheels are 6.5 inch polyurethane wheels. Polyurethane wheels combine the elasticity and maneuverability of rubber wheels with the toughness of metal wheels to provide a ground-hugging, smooth, and safe riding experience. If you like your wheels chunkier, consider the Razor Ecosmart Metro Electric Scooter.

Battery Life

The battery on the Gymax Electric Scooter is a 24 volt, actually two 12 volt, sealed battery system. The battery can get anywhere between 6.5 miles to 9.5 miles per charge. This is actually quite a large disparity as three miles is quite a length to still travel. Check out the Hiboy S2 for something that can travel much farther. Fortunately for the Gymax, recharge time is on the low end at six hours, which is always welcome.

Durability

With a 155 pound weight capacity the Gymax Electric Scooter is more suited to kids and teenagers rather than adults (although some adults may still make the cut). It does have a foldable design, so you can carry it with you onto the subway or around campus if the need arises. And the net weight of the scooter is 20 pounds which is, one, the lightest we’ve seen thus far and, two, makes it that much easier to carry around with you.

Value

For such an affordable scooter, the Gymax sure has some high-quality things going on. For one, it’s made of steel instead of high-grade aluminum alloy which is a pleasing surprise. Not sure why the weight limit is only 155 pounds, then. It does only come in one color though, black, so maybe it’s time someone told Gymax LLC that multiple colors help to bring out the personality of the rider.

Gymax Wrap Up

With polyurethane wheels and a fantastic six hour charge time, the Gymax Electric Scooter is a great choice for your first scooter. Couple this with an extremely affordable price tag and you’ve got no reason to at least try it out and see how it goes. You won’t be going too far at 6.5-9.5 miles, but if you’re a parent that’s a plus, not a negative.
