Performance
Going 15mph isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either; it’s average, at best. But on the bride side, the Segway Ninebot Kickscooter ES2 is consistent with its speed. Safety
The Segway Ninebot Kickscooter provides multiple safety features, like LED lights. More importantly, its Smart Battery Management system ensures the safety of the battery cells while also eeking out more power. It also uses an electric brake and mechanical brake (rear wheel), which provides a good amount of stopping power, but not quite like a 1000W Zipper Off Road Electric Scooter. Battery Life
The battery could be better. Its 187Wh lithium-ion battery has enough juice to provide 15.5 miles of travel, which translates to about an hour of runtime. On the bright side, it charges incredibly fast, only in 3.5 hours! There’s also an opportunity to purchase extra battery capacity, or upgrade to a Ninebot Max, ES4 Electric Kick Scooter, or NanRobot D4+.
Durability
This folding electric e scooter took the lightweight and durable route, incorporating high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum alloy for the frame. It’s the same kind of material used by Xiaomi Mi, the Xiaomi M365 Pro to be specific. It does provide a lighter profile, but at the cost of lower max load of 220 lbs. For comparison, the NanRobot D5+ adult electric scooters can handle 330 lbs.
Value
Spending $589 on the Segway Ninebot Kickscooter ES2 is not too far off from what it deserves. You also have to consider, like we did in this Ninebot Segway ES2 review, that this is Segway we’re talking about. Segway has a history of quality machines.
