Performance/Display/Resolution/Refresh

There is a lot to talk about with this Samsung QLED UHD TV, from its quantum dot technology to its very cool ambient mode. Quantum dots bring over a billion shades of color to the TV, while local dimming increases its contrast for richer blacks. Its Q Engine optimizes programming for 4K clarity and gorgeous HDR content. The ambient mode truly makes the Samsung GN65Q6FN QLED TV the centerpiece of any smart home. It can blend perfectly into the wall it’s mounted on, and even play background music or a photo slideshow. Its motion rate is 240hz for shockingly lifelike picture. Compare it to another model, the Samsung Q80R. For more of the same, check out our Samsung QN65Q7C review.

Sound

For a flat screen TV, the sound is incredible, and you can choose from settings like stereo and digital audio. Many Amazon reviewers found that they didn’t need an entire external sound system, and many purchased only a simple soundbar for full surround sound. The built-in TV speakers are loud enough to carry across your living room, much better than most TV speakers.

Smart Features

This Samsung Smart TV can do it all: with Samsung’s Bixby Voice Assistant, you can control what you’re watching by just talking at your TV. It offers a Universal Guide that combines information from all your streaming apps (like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and more) into one convenient show listing. And if you download the SmartThings app to your smartphone, you can connect all your smart devices to one place and manage them all at once.

Ports/Expandability

The Samsung GN65Q6FN has 4 HDMI ports, perfect for multiple gaming consoles and cable boxes. It has built-in wifi, but it doesn’t have an ethernet or USB port, which is a downside. If you’re looking for more expandability, take a look at the LG OLED E9 TV review.

Value

This Samsung QLED TV is an expensive, higher end model, though there is a newer version already available. While it is expensive, QLED TVs are typically cheaper than OLED TVs (like the LG CX OLED), so this TV works very well if you’re searching at this price point. Also, Samsung guarantees all of its QLED TVs against screen burn-in, so you can be confident that the TV you’re purchasing is high quality.

Samsung GN65Q6FN Wrap Up

Samsung TVs are a fairly high quality, and the Samsung GN65Q6FN is no different. One of the best TVs in its price point, it has great sound for a thin flatscreen. For the best Smart TV with some of the best picture and audio quality, definitely give Samsung another look.
