What could possibly be the best curved monitor and the best monitor for mac mini, or at least the best widescreen monitor and best hdr monitor due to having a 49-inch size screen with 5K resolution, this led monitor has the option to automatically adjust the screen’s brightness by sensing the amount of light in the room. This monitor has a lot of great features and good selling points like some of the best computer monitors on the market.

Why We Like It – LG 49WL95C-W

The LG 49WL95C-W has 5K resolution to produce high-quality images to not only fit the huge size of the screen, but also display them in rich and vivid colors, especially with the HDR feature. It also has an ips panel, making it perfect for applications such as digital art projects

Pros
  • 5K resolution
  • Supports HDR 10
  • Contains speakers
Cons
  • No adaptive sync technology
  • Lower contrast ratio

Performance

Unlike other gaming monitors such as the Samsung C27HG70 monitor, this monitor contains an IPS panel instead of a VA panel. It also has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a response time of 5 ms. Since IPS panels don’t have the best response time or refresh rate unless paired with an adaptive sync to compensate, monitors like this wouldn’t be the best choice for gaming, unlike the Samsung C27HG70. This monitor is for applications such as office work or digital art projects.

Viewing Angle

Due to being a big and wide monitor with a noticeable curve, more viewing angles are easier to find compared to a flat monitor, even when that flat monitor also has the same anti-glare coating like its curved counterpart. There’s also a nice feature in the form of an ambient light sensor that adjusts the screen’s brightness: It makes the screen brighter when there’s more light, and darker when there’s less light. As a staple for higher-quality monitors, the screen can be adjusted by height, swiveling, and tilting.

Durability

Since it weighs 33.5 Lbs., the sturdiness of both the stand and base are top priorities for a monitor to house all of the physical features that it has. The connections between the stand, its base, and the screen would have to provide stability without interfering with the adjustability of the screen, and it did just that. Customer reviews have addressed how the monitor has a metal base, and how the stand doesn’t feel like it could loosen in some way with how it connects to the stand.

Ports/Expandability

This monitor has a display, USB type c, an audio jack for the user’s headphones, and 2 HDMI ports. It also comes with one cable per port type and another cable (usb c to usb a converter) that makes the usb type c port even more versatile than it already is. Unlike the Philips Brilliance 499P9H, it doesn’t have any Ethernet ports. However, the USB ports for both monitors are higher than USB 2.0, so they function similarly in this regard.

Value

Despite not containing any adaptive sync technology, it’s almost double the price of the Samsung CHG90 49-Inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor due to the higher quality material it’s made of. However, unlike the Samsung monitor, this monitor has built-in speakers instead of just having an audio jack for the user’s headphones. It also has an IPS panel to provide impressive color quality and viewing angles, which can be quite expensive by itself, even without factoring in how big it is.

LG 49WL95C-W Wrap Up

Customer reviews have mainly praised this monitor for its resolution. Some reviewers have mentioned that the best image quality is produced by connecting the monitor via USB C cable, while other reviewers have warned that using an HDMI cable to connect the monitor doesn’t produce the best image or frame quality.
