Performance
The best thing the BenQ SW2700PT has to offer is its wide color gamut. For photographers, having a high percentage color gamut will provide a wider range of colors displayed on the monitor itself. Point to any typical monitor and chances are solid that its range is around 70%—but the BenQ SW2700PT is pushing 99% of the Adobe1998 color space. Vivid images are par for the course. It pairs nicely with its 1440p resolution. What it lacks, however, is HDR. You’ll have to move up a model for that. With over a billion colors on display, it blows the ViewSonic VX2776-4K MHD monitor out of the water.

Design
The BenQ SW2700PT shows in its design it’s built to cater to photographers. For starters, you get a shading hood, which will really come in handy if you constantly deal with glare or bright lights in your home and or office. Along the left side are two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader supporting SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, MemoryStick and Pro, MS Duo and Pro Duo. If you were searching for a card reader, this monitor has it covered. Then there’s the OSD controller on the base which provides quick access to various color spaces like sRGB, black and white, or RGB. Unlike the Philips 276E8VJSB Ultra HD 4K Monitor, the SW2700PT has VESA mounting. It doesn’t have USB-C, however, unlike the LG 27UK850 W monitor.
Value
So, is it worth it? More importantly, what is this monitor doing in the 4K section? This is BenQ we’re talking about. It’s true this particular model is QHD—that’s 1440p—and not 4K. What’s great is if you’re intrigued by this monitor’s features, but wish it were 4K—you’re in luck! It has a 4K HDR variant, too. Taking into consideration the BenQ SW2700PT’s performance and design, $600 is an amazing deal for what it offers.
