When it comes to 4K monitors, shoppers want a balance of performance, and durability, all for a price that won’t hurt the wallet too much. BenQ attempts to deliver on all this and more with the PD2700U. Featuring a stunning bit color rating and minimal power consumption, this monitor easily makes it into our list for best 4K monitor. Findout if it also made our list for the best computer monitors around.

Why We Like It – BenQ PD2700U

The BenQ PD2700U is a 4K IPS panel that offers a great aspect ratio and a rapid response time. Paired with a budget-friendly price, this is a monitor that turns eyes and delivers on performance.

Pros
  • 100%sRGB color rating
  • Calman Verified and Pantone Validated
  • Exceptional color accuracy
Cons
  • Not VESA compatible
  • No DCI-P3 color

Performance

4K monitors in a professional environment have little margin for error. Offering a native resolution of 4K simply isn’t enough for the modern workplace anymore. Fortunately, the BenQ PD2700U goes above and beyond to make itself stand out among its peers. Out of the box the PD2700U comes equipped with preset modes that benefit workers in several departments. With presets such as CAD CAM mode and animation mode, no matter where you work the BenQ PD2700U will have a setting for you. It’s only drawback is that there is no option for DCI-P3 color. For those that need DCI-P3, the Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q is a viable alternative.

Brightness

BenQ ensures the quality of every monitor by calibrating each unit before sale, certifying both Pantone and CalMan standards. This on top of the standard flicker free technology that comes with every BenQ product ensures maximum productivity. Whether it’s animating or drafting components in 3D modeling software. Refresh rate wise, the BenQ PD2700U runs at a satisfactory 60hz. This is a level of performance seen by only higher end models, such as the BenQ EW3270U

Adjustability

This is where the BenQ PD2700U begins to take a bit of a hit. While the PD2700U offers the same range of adjustability that comes standard with other stands, the blight that becomes obvious with some owners comes with the problem of mounting. While the BenQ PD2700U does come with the ability to be mounted on the wall, it does come with the odd choice of not using VESA compatible parts. Meaning those who already have VESA mount components will have to shell out more money in order to properly mount this monitor. For those looking for a VESA-compatible monitor, the BenQ SW321C PhotoVue is VESA compatible.

Durability

With an asking price of $500, it is a valid concern to think the BenQ PD2700U would be made of materials that comprise the durability of the panel. Other monitors that are much more expensive feel much more fragile. However, BenQ addressed those concerns with a durable frame that is more than capable of supporting the BenQ PD2700U.

Value

It’s an understatement to say that the BenQ PD2700U is worth the price. Doing what most 4K monitors do at a fraction of the price is no simple task, however BenQ seems to do it easily, making this more than worth your time to look at.

BenQ PD2700U Wrap Up

Whether it’s animating or CAD work, the BenQ PD2700U can help produce the best colors for a fraction of the price. With a 100%sRGB rating and exceptional color accuracy, most customers won’t even mind the lack of VESA support and no DCI-P3 color
