Acer’s Swift 3 is a great lightweight ultrabook that features the latest 10th gen Intel Core processors with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The laptop has a premium finish with an all-metal body and also offers good heat dissipation. It is one of the best laptops for productivity on the go, thanks to its great keyboard and good battery life. Compare this laptop with our review of the HP Mini 110 & 210 (get processor and RAM updates) to determine which laptop is best for you.

Why We Like It – Acer Swift 3 Review

The Acer Swift 3 has an ultraweight design with an all-metal chassis that screams premium from all angles. It is an excellent choice for go-getters, content creators, and those who’re always on the move. The laptop offers long battery life, great build quality, and the latest 10th gen Intel Core i5 processor with Intel UHD graphics. If you’re in the market for a desktop computer, have a look at Sony’s VAIO L Series all-in-one desktop computer –  achieves 3D – doubles as a TV.

Pros
  • 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with WiFi 6
  • 11 hours of battery life
  • Lightweight aluminium design with good keyboard
Cons
  • Speakers could’ve been better

Performance

This laptop is powered by a 10th generation Intel Core i5 – 1035G1 processor, which is paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD. This combination offers good performance as well as long battery life. There’s a 14-inch full HD IPS panel that’s great for media consumption and creativity. The Intel HD graphics does allow for some video editing, but don’t expect to finish a movie on this laptop. The Acer Swift 3 comes with the Windows 10 Home operating system, and is much better compared to the Toshiba Chromebook 2. Design

The Acer Swift 3 has a slim design that looks industrial, and features an all aluminium construction. It is as light as it looks, weighing in at just 1.2 kilos, and is a great laptop for travellers. The 14-inch display has super slim bezels all around and offers 84 percent screen to body ratio. It also features a well spaced backlit keyboard that has zero flex, a large precision touchpad, and a fingerprint scanner. If the minimal design of the Swift 3 doesn’t impress you, maybe try out the 2-in-1 Microsoft Surface Book. If you want a laptop known for it’s performance, then read our Acer Swift 3 SF314 review.

Value

The Swift 3 is a total value for money considering it has the latest 10th gen Intel Core i5 chipset, and dual-band Wi-Fi 6. That’s not all though, as you also get several connectivity options such as an HDMI port, a USB-C port, an USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, and Thunderbolt 3. The Wi-Fi 6 offers 3 times faster wireless transfer speeds, whereas the 10th gen Intel Core chipset has better performance than the AMD Ryzen variants of the laptop. However, if you want a better display and a SD card slot, then try out the Dell XPS 13.

Acer Swift 3 Review Wrap Up

The Acer Swift 3 is a perfect laptop for those who like to be productive while on the move. The 10th Gen Intel Core i5 chipset, long battery life, dual-band WiFi 6, lightweight design, and the good keyboard make it a great laptop. The only drawback is that the speakers aren’t that great, and we’d suggest using headphones to listen to music or watch videos.
