The Razor Authentic Street Bike is an impressive vehicle and worthy of being considered the best electric moped. It can take hills easily thanks to its superb speed and acceleration, and the 50-minute battery life is above average for similar bikes in its class. If they could do something about the long charge time, we’d be in business. It would have even made the best electric scooter list.

Why We Like It – Razor Electric Street Bike

The Razor Electric Street Bike boasts a powerful 17 MPH motor with front and rear disc brakes. Not only will this let you cruise down the street stylishly fast, it greatly reduces the braking time should you need to make a sudden stop. The 36V lead acid battery is also split into three 12V batteries for more efficient power usage. Read our Razor Ecosmart Metro Electric Scooter review as well, if you need something with a seat.

Pros
  • Takes Hills Easily
  • Rear Suspension Reduces Impact Well
  • 50 Minutes Battery Life
Cons
  • Long Charge Time
  • Less Technological Features

Performance

The Razor Electric Bike boasts a whopping 650 Watt engine, which would give you a max speed of about 17 miles per hour. Impressive, but if you’d like something slower for a child, consider the Razor Power Core E90 Electric Scooter. The engine is a high torque and chain-driven which delivers boosted acceleration and thus easy hill climbing capabilities too.

Safety

The Razor Electric Powered Pocket Bike contains rear and front wheel disc brakes, as well as rear suspension. The bike provides a short stopping distance and the brakes, operated via twist grip handlebars, are balanced in comparison to the high acceleration. The rear suspension also reduces the impact of drops and hills effectively. The tires are 14 inches, which is reasonable, but you can check out the Razor Ecosmart Metro Electric Scooter if you like them big and chunky.

Battery Life

The battery system on the Razor Electric Street Bike consists of three lead acid batteries, which can give it a run time of about 50 minutes on a full charge. This is about average, or just above average, battery life of street bikes in its class. Unfortunately, charge time is a bit of a let-down. While not explicitly stated, customer reviews place it at about seven hours. This is a long time to be waiting, for just under an hour of use.

Durability

The rider weight for the Razor Electric Street Bike is listed at 170 pounds, but this is just for safety, as it can be pushed to about 220 pounds without much issue. This not only makes it great for teens, but for adults too. The bike also features a resistant trellis frame as well as an alloy steel construction with the option of replacement parts if need be. The build quality, is excellent, and the bike is built to last.

Value

With only one color, red, available for the bike, it will be hard to express your uniqueness. If you don’t like red, the Razor Pocket Mod Miniature Euro has a variety of different colors to choose from. But if you do like red, the Razor Electric Street Bike is bold and eye-catching. It also has the advantage of zero emissions, so you’ll be saving on gas and protecting the environment. There aren’t any smartphone specific features though, like a dedicated app, so it’s less technologically advanced than many of its cousins.

Razor Electric Street Bike Wrap Up

There’s something to be said about opting for ruggedness over technology. While some people may turn the Razor Electric Street Bike away because of its less technology-rich features, I welcome it as an opportunity to learn and care for a vehicle without the use of a computer or phone guiding me through the process.
