Top 10 Best Electric Mopeds

#1  Razor EcoSmart Metro Electric Moped

Award: TOP PICK

WHY WE LIKE IT: Easy to learn, sturdily built, ultra-comfortable, with high top speed and powerful rear-wheel drive makes it the most well-rounded, user-friendly option available.

Pros
  • 220 lb max weight load
  • 500w engine for great horsepower
  • Rear-wheel drive increases traction and control
Cons
  • Fairly low 40-minute travel time per charge

The Razor EcoSmart Metro is a 500w rear-wheel drive electric mobility scooter with a sit-down design and large, electric bicycle-like wheels. Having twice the horsepower of most commuter scooters and the added traction and control of the rear-wheel drive, it provides plenty of power for even very hilly and bumpy roads. We loved the extra-wide seat, large footrest, and simple controls, and found the hand disc brake responsive and effective.

The Ecosmart’s eco-friendly battery pack does have a shorter battery charge travel range than many models at 40 minutes or 12 miles, but for average city commutes and around-town shopping it should be more than sufficient, and its cargo carrier makes it especially great for small shopping trips. Add in an extra powerful engine that will speed up depending on throttle control, smooth, easy, relaxing ride, simple, easy-to-learn controls, and lightweight but durable build, and with a 220 lbs max weight load, it’s a great go-to choice for an electric scooter with a seat even for large riders.

 #2  TAO 49cc Electric Moped

Award: HONORABLE MENTION

WHY WE LIKE IT: Highly portable and lightweight but durable and safe, with enough horsepower for steep inclines and enough battery power for most normal commutes.

Pros
  • 650w top-end engine power
  • Airless tires for flat-free riding
  • Luggage bag and mini wheels for travel
Cons

Its airless, never-pop tires and rear anti-lock brakes are made with safety in mind, and we loved its light 26-pound foldable frame, built in-rolling wheels, and luggage bag, which make it a great choice for traveling.

It has a fairly low top speed of 15mph, and the lack of both front and back suspension means it doesn’t provide as smooth a ride as some. But its relatively generous horsepower, portability, safety features, and overall high build quality make it a great all-around choice for hilly commutes at a relatively modest price point. It’s a great choice if you’re looking for the best electric scooter for commuting.

#3  Razor Pocket Mod Electric Moped

Award: BEST FOR SMALL RIDERS

WHY WE LIKE IT: Light, easy to use kickstart engine and simple controls, stylish “mini-euro” design, and multiple attractive color options make it a fun, highly affordable option for small riders and kids.

We liked its novel kickstart mechanism and grip throttle, which are both easy to use for beginners and kids, and provides some retro-style appeal. We also liked its super-quiet chain-driven motor and secret under-seat storage compartment.

It has among the lower top speeds on the market and its modest battery power makes it unsuitable for long commutes. However, its light 50.5lb weight, easy-to-learn, simple controls, bright colors, and large-grip front tire make it a safe, reliable choice for ages 8 and up and among the best values on the market that can still handle modest hills and inclines with ease. If you’re looking for the best electric scooter for hills you may want to consider another option.

 #4  Skrt Electric Moped

Award: BEST FOR TRAVEL

WHY WE LIKE IT: Foldable, compact, but sturdy steel and aluminum frame, an efficient but powerful 350w engine and double braking system, and ultra-comfortable seat make this great for taking on vacations.

Pros
  • Fairly light 52lb weight
  • 1 hour travel time per charge
  • Disc and eABS anti-lock braking system
Cons
  • Charge only reaches maximum under specific conditions

The Skrt Electric Scooter/Moped is a foldable, fairly compact steel-frame hybrid vehicle with a powerful but efficient 350w motor that allows for travel times of nearly an hour per charge. Its fairly light 52lb weight and foldable design- unusual for moped-style scooter hybrids- make it easy to pack and travel with, and its top speed of 18mph and large-tread tires make it a performer on a variety of terrains and inclines.

Though it requires fairly flat, low-impact terrain to reach its maximum travel time per charge, it will still provide at least 40 minutes of travel under most conditions. Add to that its power, portability, comfortable seat, wide footrest, and durable but light build, and it’s a great option for taking on planes and cars for adventures away from home.

Its unusual three-wheel design makes it especially sturdy and easy to ride and allows it to take sharp corners more easily and safely than most two-wheel electric scooters. It also features a built-in front basket that’s perfect for shopping trips.

We loved its quick-release removable seat which allows for easy stand-up riding, but even with the seat removed, its heavier weight and bulk and lack of foldability means it’s not the most portable of seated scooters. But its generous 300lb max weight limit, powerful motor, and good travel time per charge, combined with its great look and sturdy build make it a great choice if you’re looking for the best electric scooter for heavy riders.

 #6  Maxtra Electric Moped

Award: BEST ON A BUDGET

 #7  Razor E300S Electric Moped

Award: BEST VERSATILITY

WHY WE LIKE IT: Fairly light and boasting easy to learn, simple controls with a fun design, it’s got enough power and charge to handle most situations and won’t intimidate new users.

We liked its super-quiet chain-driven motor and fun, vintage-style, easy-to-use kickstart and grip throttle, which new riders will find familiar and very simple to learn to ride safely.

Though it has enough power for most commuters and recreational uses, the slow charging time of up to 12 hours may not suit all riders. However, its light 26lb weight, extra-thick frame, and extra-wide deck that accommodates a larger variety of rider sizes, and fun-to-ride, vintage design make it a perfect choice for new riders who want a powerful, safe scooter that’s easy to travel with.

#8  Razor Electric Street Bike Electric Moped

It also features custom 14-inch 10-spoke mag wheels and high-grip street tires, heavy rear suspension, a variable speed twist-grip throttle, hand-operated rear disc brakes for a smooth, supportive ride. With maximum weight support of 170lbs and its motorcycle-like seat, it won’t be suitable for all riders, but its top speed of 17mph and high-performance engine and components make it a super-powerful option offering impressive control and precision in class.

#9  Xiaomi Mi Electric Moped for Adults

Award: BEST RELIABILITY

WHY WE LIKE IT: Foldable, ultra-light, but the sturdy aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame and advanced double braking system make this award-winner a reliable but powerful option.

Pros
  • Front LED safety light
  • Repair Program enrollment with purchase
  • Disc and eABS anti-lock braking system
Cons
  • Slightly bulkier than similar foldable models

The Xiaomi Mi is a 250w, Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award-winning electric scooter with a foldable 26lb alloy frame. It can reach a top speed of 15.5mph and has a travel range of up to 18.5 miles under specific conditions. We liked its intuitive controls and the Applecare-like repair program customers are enrolled in upon purchase, which also provides excellent customer support and technical support. Its dual disc brakes and eABS anti-lock brakes also make it among the safest models available for steep terrain.

Its foldable build makes it highly portable with a modest weight of 26.9lbs, but it’s still slightly bulkier than other foldable models close in weight, affecting its portability just slightly by comparison. However, its safety features, customer support, and repair program, a decent amount of horsepower, award-winning design, and fairly modest price point make it a go-to for an extremely reliable steep-terrain, short commute electric scooter.

 #10  SAY YEAH Electric Moped

Award: BEST SAFETY

WHY WE LIKE IT: Excellent balance and steering control from its three-wheel design is complemented by a bright front light, loud horn, and front basket for safety-minded riders.

Pros
  • Unique three-wheel design
  • 350w of horsepower
  • 250lb max weight limit
Cons
  • Not very portable

The Say Yeah is a three-wheel seated electric mobility scooter with a 350w motor, a top speed of 15mph, and a max travel per charge of 20 miles depending on rider weight. With a 250lb max weight limit and extra-wide, super comfortable removable it will accommodate larger riders easily whether sitting or standing. We loved its comfortable grips and built-in carrying basket great for shopping.

Its bright front LED lights, high-quality drum brakes, and loud volume horn make it great for the safety-minded rider and for evening commutes, but the relative bulk and heavy 83lb weight make it less portable than many on the market. For a durable, heavy-duty, smooth-riding scooter made with maximum safety in mind even for larger riders, it’s a great choice.

How We Decided

We preferred seated electric scooters for adults, mopeds, mobility scooters, and with at least 250 watt (250w) engines for sufficient climbing horsepower even at steep climbing angles of 20 degrees, anti-lock brakes, hydraulic disc brakes, or double braking mechanisms, and batteries that provide power for trips of no less than 13 miles.

We also preferred models that could carry up to 250lbs safely without stressing the frame, and which had intuitive controls that were easy to learn for all ages. We also liked scooters with ergonomic, comfortable handles that wicked off sweat for comfort and safety, and that had high-tread, wide tires good for a variety of terrain.

Finally, we liked models with safety features like turn signals, which were lightweight enough to be easily portable without sacrificing durability and strength, which were designed with carrying handles or other features for easy carrying and travel, and which were powerful but eco-friendly.

Best Electric Mopeds Buyer’s Guide

The Most Important Features to Consider

  1. Safety Design
A number of features can go into the design of an electric scooter where safety is concerned, but probably first and foremost will be the brake design. Anti-lock brakes are practically a must in any scooter being used on hilly and steep terrain but other features like a double-braking system are highly desirable as well. Beyond that, the weight limit of the wheel casters and frame are obviously important, as are features like ergonomically designed handles that keep hands dry and prevent slippage (as well as providing a more comfortable ride).
  2. Engine Power
In flatter terrain, engine power is less of a concern, but if you’re going to be climbing steep hills regularly, your scooter needs to provide plenty of horsepower regardless of your weight. A 250-watt motor is about what to look for, but more juice than that can’t hurt. Of course, more horsepower generally means a higher price point, so if you’re budget-minded keep in mind what you’ll actually need, power-wise.
  3. Balance Weight with Durability
A strong frame with a good weight capacity is important, but portability is a factor you’ll also want to consider since even if you don’t plan to travel with your scooter, you’ll find yourself having to carry it fairly frequently. Most electric scooters are rated for a weight limit of around 250lb- plenty for most adults- but their weights can vary wildly. Generally speaking, a heavier build will be more durable, but significantly more difficult to carry, so it’s a good idea to figure out the balance of portability, weight limit, and sturdiness you need.
  4. Battery Life
Removable lithium batteries are standard in most electric scooters, but the range of charge time they hold is large. Many models feature batteries made for up to 15 miles of travel before they need recharging, but there are models with considerably more powerful batteries capable of running without a recharge for trips as long as 50 miles. Often, however, a bigger capacity means a bigger battery, and a heavier scooter, so having an idea of your needs in this respect is a must. A scooter for a kid won’t require a big, heavy battery, nor will a scooter used simply for getting around the neighborhood. Some batteries do manage to pack extra power in a smaller package, but at greater expense.

Removable lithium batteries are standard in most electric scooters, but the range of charge time they hold is large. Many models feature batteries made for up to 15 miles of travel before they need recharging, but there are models with considerably more powerful batteries capable of running without a recharge for trips as long as 65 miles. Often, however, a bigger capacity means a bigger battery pack, and a heavier scooter, so having an idea of your needs in this respect is a must. A scooter for a kid won’t require a big, heavy battery pack, nor will a scooter used simply for getting around the neighborhood. Some batteries do manage to pack extra power in a smaller package, but at greater expense.

Kepteen Mountain Bike Review

If you’re on a budget, or you’re a beginner, the best ebike for hills may very well be the Kepteen Mountain Bike. It foregoes long distance traveling and speed for a 21-speed Shimano gear system that offers excellent control over the inclines you tackle. And did we mention fast charging in 4 hours?

Why We Like It – Kepteen Mountain Bike

With its 21-speed Shimano gear system, the Kepteen Mountain Bike always has the right gear for your target incline. And with a fast-charging lithium-ion battery, it won’t be long before you’re climbing the next mountain.

Pros
  • Shimano 21-speed gear
  • Bright LED light & horn
  • Fast charging lithium battery
Cons
  • Maximum speed is only 18mph
  • Maximum 30 miles per charge

Durability & Build Quality

The Kepteen 26-inch 21-Speed Lithium Battery Aluminum Alloy Frame Electric Bike is made of aluminum alloy. Lightweight and durable, it does sacrifice strength. For example, its capacity is 264 lbs, a far cry from E-Cells Super Monarch Crown’s 400 lb weight limit. The wheels are thick and grippy, with a wheel design that opens up for a foldable integral wheel upgrade.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

The Kepteen 26-inch Electric Mountain Bikes don’t have speed on their side, not with a maximum speed of 18mph. And that’s with e bike pedal assist mode. What it does have is the electric motor battery combo and Shimano 21-speed transmission system. It gives you unprecedented control over inclines. Thrill-seekers will want the HalloMotor 5000W FC-1.

Range & Battery

If you use the electric motor battery combo, you’re only getting 15 miles on a single charge. But since this is a bike pedal assist bicycle, you can squeeze 30 miles, easily. It makes up for it by fast charging in under 4 hours.

Safety Features

The Kepteen Mountain Bike isn’t packed with safety features, which is a shame. Its mechanical disc brakes are certainly better than linear pull, and perform better going down hills and weather. The LED light & horn is a nice tough to make riding at night easy. Lastly, the battery is removable, which prevents theft.

Value

The Kepteen 26-inch Electric Mountain Bike 21 Speed Lithium Battery Aluminum Alloy E Bike Bicycle fell short in some key locations, like speed and distance. That may be an issue for some, but it’s fair we point out that climbing hills is a cinch due to the 21-speed gear system. It’s also only $630, which is ideal for beginners. For the experienced, you’ll like the Haibike SDURO HardSeven 2.0.

Kepteen Mountain Bike Wrap Up

The Kepteen Mountain Bike isn’t brimming with power and features. It struggles to reach 30 miles on pedal assist mode, and rarely goes over 18mph. That doesn’t change the fact that it has fast charging, a bright LED light and horn for safety, and 21-speed gear system for control of nearby inclines. And even better: it’s only $630.

Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD Review

If you’re looking for the best ebike for hills that are the complete package, the Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD is running on all cylinders. Fenders, front and rear lights, rear rack, hydraulic brakes, and more, the Juggernaut Classic is packed with features. And that’s just the base model we’re talking about.

Why We Like It – Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD

Customizable and powerful, the Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD flies up and down hills with ease, thanks to its 750W motor and 8-speed Shimano gear.

Pros
  • 24mph maximum speed
  • 160mm hydraulic disc brakes
  • Can be customized before purchase
Cons
  • Seating isn’t for everyone
  • So-so battery life; 30 miles per charge

Durability & Build Quality

The Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD makes full use of its 6061 aluminum alloy, being both strong and lightweight. The seat post feels rigid, however, but can be altered. More importantly, its frame is supported by rear suspension and a front fork. The rear and front suspension fork offer excellent absorption, preventing the rider from bucking. The seating is comfortable, but angled in a way that’ll be uncomfortable for some.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

You can do a lot with a 750W mid drive motor, and that’s exactly what the Biktrix Juggernaut HD electric bikes do. Speeding around at 24mph is simply awesome. The Shimano 8-speed is a wonderful compliment, whether you’re hitting inclines or joyriding on flatlands. The cadence PAS pedal assist sensor switching on is notable, however. For serious speed, take the HalloMotor 5000W FC-1 for a spin.

Range & Battery

On the base model, the lithium battery isn’t great, only eeking out 30 miles on a single charge. But you can opt into adding another battery or picking a higher-capacity option.

Safety Features

The Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD is armed to the teeth with safety features and feels more complete than the Haibike SDURO HardSeven 2.0. The wide fat tires alone offer better control, but the Tektro dual-piston hydraulic brakes are king here with some serious stopping power, especially going downhill. You also get fenders to block debris and a headlamp, rear light, and rear rack.

Value

Seeing the $2099 might turn you off—we understand! However, the Biktrix Juggernaut Class HD E Bikes are some of the most high quality machines around. There’s so much value here in just the base model alone, unlike the expensive E-Cells Super Monarch Crown. Not to mention oodles of options to customize before you purchase, like different disc brakes, tires, or adding a suspension seatpost.

Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD Wrap Up

Taking into consideration of our Biktrix Juggernaut Classic HD Bike review, it’s the complete package, even at the base model. The simple fact that you can customize many of its features makes its battery life a non-factor. The base model alone will have you taking off at 24mph and stopping hard on the tough, confident Tektro 160mm hydraulic disc brakes.

Vtuvia Fat Tire Review

The Vtuvia Fat Tire Gravel E Bike is exceptionally durable, with a completely waterproof and snowproof design, an aluminum alloy frame, and shock-absorbing fat tires. Having been one of the Best Gravel E Bikes over this past year the Vtuvia Fat Tire is a good choice.

Why We Like It – Vtuvia Fat Tire

The Vtuvia Fat Tire’s durable and waterproof design, has an aluminum alloy frame, and shock-absorbing fat tires for comfort. Lastly the 750w turbo motor can hit speeds up to 27 MPH getting you wherever you are going in as little time as possible.

Pros
  • Top speed 27 MPH
  • Wear-resistant and shock-absorbing fat tires
  • Shimano 7-speed transmission system
Cons
  • Battery gets max 25 miles per charge
  • Requires some assembly

Durability & Build Quality

Made from an aluminum alloy this electric bike is on par with some electric mountain bikes like the Yamaha Wabash though it’s not on the same level as the later as the Vtuvia SN100 can’t match the battery power of the Yamaha.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Many loved the 750-watt turbo motor, which can reach speeds up to 27 miles per hour a speed most electric bicycles can’t quite hit. The stability enhancing Shimano 7 speed transmission system.

Range & Battery

This bike arrives semi-assembled but does require an hour or two of work in order to make it roadworthy. Additionally, the removable lithium battery maxes out at 25 miles per charge, and this metric decreases considerably as you approach the 330-pound load capacity. With a maximum speed of 28 mph without the need for continuous pedaling. It has a 750w motor but it can help you reach a speed of 28 miles per hour.

Safety features

The dual disc brakes on this gravel e-bike are also of exceptional quality and performed admirably according to the reviews left by those who were able to thoroughly test the bike on their own.

Value

While the bike may have free shipping it’s not quite clear on the website, but regardless the price point is cheaper than the competition like the Giant Revolt E+ Pro which is a bike that is nearly four times the price.

Vtuvia Fat Tire Wrap Up

While not as highly rated as the Specialized Turbo Creo SL due to the required assembly and the low distance you can go off the ingal battery, if 25 miles is far enough though the positives like the high speed are far better then the negatives.

GUNAI Electric Review

This Gunai electric bike comes in at a value conscious price point while offering features in line with higher priced competitors such as the Ariel Rider Ebike. With a durable aluminum frame that can take a licking and 26-inch fat tires that help absorb the shock from traveling over rough terrain. The bike is also one of the Best Ebikes for Heavy Riders.

Why We Like It – GUNAI Electric

The value friendly GUNAI Electric bike has an array of high-end features including an ultra durable 6061 aluminum frame and 26” fat tires that excel across a wide variety of terrain types.

Pros
  • Luminous LED headlight and backlit display
  • Durable 6061 aluminum frame
  • 26” fat tires excel on rough terrain types
Cons
  • 35-degree climbing capacity
  • Battery takes 7 hours to charge

Durability & Build Quality

Made from a durable 6061 aluminum alloy frame that can hold the heaviest weights regardless of if this weight comes from a heavy cargo or person the bike is designed from the start to handle it. The suspension in the fork gives further comfort as it absorbs plenty of force.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

The motor is great at acceleration and can handle a heavy load, but only has the capacity to climb at a maximum of 35-degree inclines. With a max speed of 23-30 mph a new customer might be rather happy with the speed of the bike, though when going up a hill steeper than 35 degrees will cause some problems for the bike, one reviewer recommended just walking up the hill.

Range & Battery

Though the removable lithium battery can get you over 30 miles of riding before needing a charge, the included charger does take six or seven hours to complete said charge, many who rode the bike recommended having a second battery just in case.

Safety features

With lots of praise for the luminous LED headlight and the backlit display coming from reviewers it’s unsuprising both come in handy during night rides, indicating more efforts to keep people safer than the Muller E Bike while the later bike can easily be fixed with a better rear light.

Value

With free shipping in some areas and free delivery in others, this sports outdoors ebike is far cheaper than almost any of its competitors like the Addmotor Motan which just price wise comes in at about times the price.

GUNAI Electric Wrap Up

When it comes to any E bike no matter the purpose some of the most important things are reliability and speed, the GUNAI Electric is clearly capable of meeting those demands as long as you steer clear of hills and don’t mind leaving the battery to charge at night.

Muller E Bike Review

As one of the est ebikes for heavy riders the Muller E Bike is the best bike for a 350 lbs person, thanks to an ultra-powerful Bosch Performance Line CX motor that can easily accommodate 300 pounds and above.

Why We Like It – Muller E Bike

The Muller E Bike is a durably designed bike with a good maximum load capacity, including a comfortable gel saddle and dual Bosch batteries for a maximum range of 130 miles.

Pros
  • Dual battery system for increased range
  • Comfortable Selle Royal Sport Gel saddle
  • Magura rear and front ABS disc brakes
Cons
  • Extremely expensive

Durability & Build Quality

Many also loved the comfortable Selle Royal Sport Gel saddle and the efficient and safe Magura rear and front ABS disc brakes. While the high-volume tires can take out some of the bumps, there’s also an SR SunTour Aion 34 air full suspension fork with 100mm of travel to catch the bigger bumps and a Thudbuster seatpost that does a great job of taking the rest of the bumps from the rear. That amount of damping makes a massive distance if you’re going to be doing long rides.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

It can be set up with a Bosch Performance Line CX, the same one used in e-MTBs, which provides more torque but cuts assist at 20 mph, making it a Class 1 e-bike. The other motor offered is a Performance Line Speed motor that goes to 28 mph, making it a Class 3 bike. Drivetrain choices vary from a chain and gears to a belt drive system and either an Enviolo CVT rear hub or at the higher end, a Rohloff electronic 14-speed rear hub.

Range & Battery

This is the best electric bike for a 300 lb man, and woman, thanks to the inclusion of dual Bosch PowerTube batteries, allowing for an outstanding 130 miles of use before needing to recharge a good distance longer then competitors like the Ariel Rider Ebike can manage.

Safety features

The IQ-X headlight is fantastically bright and can be used at night to see and in daylight to be seen. The taillight is bright enough to be seen, but people do wish that it would have a brake light function and get brighter on braking when considering the price compared to other cargo bikes.

Value

This is a high end electric bicycle and, as such, you will be paying a lot in order to purchase it from Riese Muller, as it is higher-priced than many of its competitors such as the Addmotor Motan.

Muller E Bike Wrap Up

Many electric bikes like the Biktrix Juggernaut Classic can carry a heavy thing rather far but only the GT will do it while costing you the legs to operate the bike, jokes aside the bike is clearly high performance and capable of comparing with the best if it isn’t though the cost makes the bike out of reach for most.

Cyclamatic CX1 Electric Bike Review

The Cyclamatic CX1 Electric Bike comes in at a budget friendly price point while offering multiple features in line with higher-priced competitors, such as the Muller E Bike. The comfortable padded saddle and the reliable front suspension are highly rated by those who’ve ridden the bike, both of which also make this bike the best ebikes for heavy riders. This electric bicycle also arrives nearly assembled, taking just five minutes of some simple tightening to get it roadworthy.

Why We Like It – Cyclamatic CX1 Electric Bike

The Cyclamatic CX1 Electric Bike is a budget friendly electric mountain bike with plenty of high-end features, including a 21-speed Shimano gear shifter for a smooth ride and an ultra-comfortable padded saddle.

Pros
  • Quick assembly
  • 21-speed Shimano gears for smooth ride
  • Comfortable padded saddle and front suspension
Cons
  • Max speed 15 MPH
  • No twist throttle

Durability & Build Quality

Features of the Power Plus CX1 Electric include a quick release battery, quick release front wheel and quick change gears. The design of the bicycle is of the latest quality and style, The latest mountain bike frame is made from a special steel chosen as it remains light and tough to bend and break.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

With a 21-speed Shimano gear shifter that makes bumpy terrain and riding up hills easier the CX1has a 250 watt motor can handle heavy loads and is decent at acceleration, it does max out at 15 miles per hour, so take that into consideration. Also, there is no twist throttle on this model, relying exclusively on pedal assist via the integrated pedals making getting started a problem for anyone who really likes to carry a heavy load. The Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 electric mountain bike is a powerful electric bike with a twist, you can use it as a standard manual mountain bike if and when you wish. This provides you with the ability to still exercise as you would do with a standard mountain bike, but to turn on the extra power from the battery when you need a rest or for when you are cycling up a steep hill.

Range & Battery

The purpose of the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 is to provide an effortless cycling experience via it’s pedal assist, utilizing a 36-volt lithium ion battery to travel a distance of up to 28 miles at a speed of 15mph. The brushless motor is a fine pair with the lithium battery making it perfect for E bikes like the Addmotor Motan.

Safety features

It appears to have been designed not only for smooth assembly but to ensure that there are minimal ‘weak spots;’ areas that may be prone to breaking or becoming damaged. Also included is a small tool kit to help in the assembly, which is useful as it eliminates the need for specialist tools to put the bike together.

Value

With a clear and clean frame design the bike is both cheap but well made leading to a good option as an alternative to the Ariel Rider Ebike, while that bike is not a bad option it’s just a little more costly then the CX1.

Cyclamatic CX1 Electric Bike Wrap Up

The bike is a good option for anybody who needs to carry a heavy load though if the load is too heavy the lack of a throttle will be noticable, the low speed that the bike treks at is also an unfortunate point against it as most bikes now will at the least hit 20mph.

Biktrix Juggernaut Classic Bike Review

The Biktrix Juggernaut Classic is of exceptional quality with a high-end feature set that is great for heavy people and heavier riders, that being how it became the best ebikes for heavy riders. With a lot of love for the 1000 watt Bafang mid-drive turbo motor, which can go up to 32 miles per hour.

Why We Like It – Biktrix Juggernaut Classic Bike

The Biktrix Juggernaut Classic is a high quality ebike with plenty of features including a 1000w Bafang mid drive motor, a durable 6061 aluminum frame, and ultra-safe Tektro dual-piston hydraulic brakes.

Pros
  • High cargo capacity
  • Powerful and stable mid-drive motor
  • Reliable hydraulic disc brakes
Cons
  • Integrated display is bare bones

Durability & Build Quality

This is also an incredibly durable bicycle, with a 6061 aluminum frame just like the Addmotor Motan, and highly adjustable seat post. Though the Velo plush saddle is not rigid but is rather comfortable, it is on the narrower side which may not suit all consumers. Additionally, this bike is on the heavier side at 75 pounds, That could make it somewhat frustrating to carry as you move it to and from storage. The full suspension fork is a RockShox Bluto fat tire specific fork while the rear suspension features 100mm of travel and some preload adjustment. The Bafang control center on the Juggernaut displays pretty much everything including current speed, top speed, average speed, range, battery level, pedal assist mode, wattage output and more. More importantly to those who want to use it, reviews indicated they could read it in direct sunlight unlike the Ariel Rider Ebike.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

The suspension and fat tires really give it a rugged quality that can handle anything, and the powerful motor is really something that can leave you speechless as when you hit it’s top speed around 28mph. The wide fat tires are the perfect partner to the suspension as the pair together make the lighter bumps disappear.

Range & Battery

Powering the bike and it’s front and rear light is a 48v 14ah lithium ion battery pack. In case you wanted more juice, Biktrix offers battery upgrades on the bike to both a 17ah and a 21ah. The battery has a power button and an LED display read out on it so you can check to see around how much power is left.

Safety features

The Tektro dual piston hydraulic brakes are incredibly safe, passing all of Biktrix stop tests with ease, and the 330-pound max load capacity was also tested by verified purchasers of this electric bike.

Value

The Ultra FS is the sister bike to the populer Juggernaut HD so while the Ultra isn’t as fancy nore do they have the same bells and whistles but still remains a high quality e bike. The free shipping is really a benefit as at it’s cost the added fees would hurt that much more.

Biktrix Juggernaut Classic Bike Wrap Up

Not everyone needs a rear rack but not everyone needs a detailed display on their Ebike, that’s to say while the bike can compete even with bikes like the Muller E Bike the main flaw mentioned is not that serious if you’re in the market for a mid price range Ebike.

Ariel Rider Ebike Review

Similar to the Biktrix Juggernaut Classic the Ariel Rider Ebike comes in a compact and lightweight form factor, weighing just 47 pounds, while still boasting an ultra-powerful mid-drive motor that can accommodate heavy riders and heavy loads of cargo. As for cargo hauling, this electric bike comes equipped with a sturdy rear rack and a front-facing basket. Due to the bikes sturdy build the Rider is one of the best ebikes for heavy riders.

Why We Like It – Ariel Rider Ebike

A compact and lightweight design the Ariel Rider Ebike weighing only 47 lbs, that can still accommodate a heavy load, with high cargo capacity and a powerful mid drive motor that boasts enough torque for excellent acceleration and climbing.

Pros
  • High cargo capacity
  • Powerful and stable mid-drive motor
  • Reliable hydraulic disc brakes
Cons
  • Integrated display is bare bones

Durability & Build Quality

Though this e bike does contain an integrated display, many found it to be rather bare bones, offering only the slimmest of data points. This display can also not be removed while parked, which could make it attractive to would-be thieves.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

The throttle is only active in assist level zero, so you won’t accidentally zip off when the bike starts up in level three. The pedal assist sensor is pretty smart here, so it won’t zip off if you put pressure on the pedal but aren’t moving the crank arms.

Range & Battery

The C Class electric bikes have a sleek 48 volt 11.6 amp hour lithium-ion battery pack that slides mounts to the downtube. The battery has an estimated max range of 75 miles per charge which is rather impressive compared to other bikes like the Muller E Bike.

Safety features

Those who tried it loved the reliable Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and the 625Wh battery, which can go up to 75 miles on a single charge. Do note that if you opt for the front basket and move the LED headlight onto the little tab there, it will no longer point where you steer. Ariel Rider Ebikes has opted for a frame mounted basket to separate the weight of front cargo from steering. Overall the brake performance was the stand out bringing the bike to a smooth stop from max speed.

Value

While a great bike in many ways from the hydraulic brakes to the hub motor and up to the seat post, it all screams quality other than the integrated screen making this a good choice as an electric commuter bike over a bike like the Addmotor Motan.

Ariel Rider Ebike Wrap Up

While similar to the W Class bike Ariel Rider still gave plenty of new features to make the C Class perfect for many electric bike riders leaving only the complaint of the low tec display and one person who didn’t get a rear wheel as part of their delivery.

ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike Review

Folding electric bikes like the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike sit comfortably between the best electric mountain bikes and the best throttle electric bike. After all, 20mph isn’t anything to sneeze at when you can hit those speeds with just throttle, no pedal assist needed. You’ll definitely blow through 40 miles in no time.

Why We Like It – ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike

The ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike isn’t a stranger to power; it has 350 reasons thanks to its 350W motor, providing 20mph top speed, with a suspension fork to absorb terrain.

Pros
  • 20mph top speed
  • High-strength professional front suspension fork
  • Lithium battery is removable
Cons
  • Headlight is a bit dim
  • Some assembly is required

Durability & Build Quality

Aviation grade aluminum alloy is the choice of building material for the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike. It’s lightweight, durable, and strong. And since this is a folding e bike, you can unhinge two locations to reduce the overall bulk of the bike for easy storage and transportation. More importantly, the high-strength professional front suspension fork is great for absorbing bumps along the way, and preventing the rider from bucking.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Even for a 350W hub motor, it’s still surprising to see 20mph register on the helpful LCD display, just 3 miles short of the Addmotor Motan Electric Bike. And the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike can reach those speeds with and without pedal assist.

Range & Battery

Speaking of pedal assist, if you want to reach the maximum miles per charge, which is 40 miles, you’ll have to do some work. The lithium battery does have an e bike mode, which lets the bike do the work, but it will shave a few miles off, bringing it down to 20-30 miles, similar to the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike.

Safety Features

The ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike doesn’t have many on-demand safety features. Its front and rear mechanical disc brakes have good stopping power, even in sketchy weather, but not quite like hydraulic disc brakes. There’s a headlamp, but it isn’t very bright. It does have a detachable battery, preventing theft.

Value

Folding bikes like the ANCHEER Electric Bike reviewed here, do sacrifice features to keep pricing low. We can understand that, and the bike still has plenty to offer. So, who is this bike for? If you’re inexperienced in the art of mountain biking, or you’re on a tight budget, this bike is for you. Experienced riders should examine the NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike.

ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike Wrap Up

Despite a few shortcomings, like a dim headlamp, the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike is still a solid beginner’s mountain bike. It has a 20mph top speed with high-strength professional front suspension fork, which is ideal for sporty moments. And the removable lithium battery is a necessary feature for commuters.

NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike Review

If you’re on the market for an electric bike that’s a cross between the best electric mountain bikes and the best electric fat bikes, the NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike serves as the perfect example. It has a 25mph maximum speed, strapped to a strong, carbon steel frame with premium shock absorption.

Why We Like It – NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike

The NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike handles the road with ease thanks to its strong and flexible carbon steel frame and premium shock absorption.

Pros
  • 25mph maximum speed
  • Premium shock absorption
  • Carbon steel frame
Cons
  • One pedal assist level
  • 20-30 miles per charge

Durability & Build Quality

Instead of being constructed with aluminum alloy, Nakto Electric Bikes are made of high quality carbon steel. It’s tough, has admiral flex (around the seat post), and longevity. The e bikes are then complimented with thick, but not fat tires. The handlebars have a rubber coating with texture, while the pedals are generic with okay grip. The premium shock absorption keeps the bike from experiencing the full brunt of bumps and grooves.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

If speed is a concern, the NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bicycle will calm your fears. It can top the meter at 25mph, which is ideal for commuting. It also comes built with a Shimano 6-speed gear—just enough options for control, but the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike has 21 speeds.

Range & Battery

Battery life on the NAKTO eBikes are so-so. If you use nothing but electricity, you’ll get between 20-30 miles. If you use pedal assist, then 40 miles, at most.

Safety Features

The NAKTO Cruiser is fitted with much appreciated safety features. It has a removable lithium battery, an ideal option for commuters to prevent battery theft. It has an incredibly bright LED headlight for night riding, and an LCD display to keep track of metrics (battery life, etc). While we prefer disc brakes, like on the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike, its linear pull brakes are good on the road.

Value

Since you can’t take it on a test ride before you buy, it begs the question: who is this bike for? Considering it has a rear rack in the back, and one in the front, a step-thru frame, and great speed with a decent battery, the NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bikes fit perfectly as commuter rides and for running errands. It provides a lot of service for just $650, more so than the NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike.

NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike Wrap Up

The NAKTO Fat Tire Electric Bike is the complete package: places for storage, great speed, and overall performance and design. We would’ve liked a better battery, however. But we can’t argue with such a tough carbon frame and excellent suspension absorption. Your adventure from point A to point B will be smooth as butter.

Addmotor Motan Electric Bik Review

You want the best electric mountain bikes merging with the best ebike for hills, mixed with the best electric bikes under 2000: what kind of union would that look like? It would look something like the Addmotor Motan Electric Bike. It has thick, fat tires with great grippage. And with a 750W hub motor under the hood, you can hit the throttle and reach 23mph.

Why We Like It – Addmotor Motan Electric Bik

The Addmotor Motan Electric Bike has fat tires taking it in any direction on a 65-mile stretch, going 23mph. With that kind of power, the streets and off-road terrain are your playground.

Pros
  • 750W motor; 23mph top speed
  • Fat tires are great for off-road
  • 65 miles on a single charge
Cons
  • Some assembly required
  • Pricey

Durability & Build Quality

Built with a 7075 aluminum alloy frame, the Addmotor Motan Electric Bike is incredibly tough and durable, but not very lightweight. It’s one of the heaviest entries, weighing 80 lbs. The comfortable cushy seating makes riding 65 miles easy, and the handle itself is adjustable. However, some assembly is required, such as the front wheel, handlebars, seating, and pedals.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Speeding around at 23mph is made possible by its 750W hub motor. Some of our top entries eek out a few miles faster, but the on-demand throttle is too good to pass on, especially if you want to transition from mountain biking, to the street.

Range & Battery

With so much power, it has to have a little battery, right? Wrong! It can travel 65 miles on a single charge. That’s two times the battery life of the Cyclamatic Power Plus CX1 Electric Mountain Bike, and then some.

Safety Features

Given the enlarged wheel size, Addmotor Motan Electric Bikes are naturally safer, offering more control and grip than large, thin wheels. The fat tires are complimented with a mechanical dual-disc brake system, with stopping power that you can trust. It comes with a huge light in the front and rearlighting. The cherry on top is the LCD display Addmotor added, giving you insightful info on metrics.

Value

Electric bicycles like the Addmotor Motan Fat Tire Electric E Bike are always going to have a hefty price. The kind of power driving this machine, its strong design and durability—it’ll set you back $1800. Given how well it performs at every turn, you’re definitely getting a quality experience worth every penny, more so than the NCM Prague Electric Mountain Bike. But if budget is a concern, the ANCHEER Folding Electric Mountain Bike is $730.

Addmotor Motan Electric Bik Wrap Up

The Addmotor Motan Electric Bike might be a bit more expensive, but that’s the cost of having a powerful machine that has the performance to back it up. You get to zip around at 23mph for an entire 65 mile stretch. And the thick, fat tires make it easy to transition from streets to off-road in one split decision.

Specialized Turbo Creo SL Review

As one of the best gravel e bikes the Specialized Turbo Creo SL is a stunning example of craftsmanship, with all of the bells and whistles one would expect of one of the best electric road bikes on the market. Few other bikes like the Giant Revolt E+ Pro as an example, have an app to help track their progress and control some aspects of their bike thru an ant bluetooth connection. The Creo Sl is also one of the best electric road bikes on the market making it a great multi tasker.

Why We Like It – Specialized Turbo Creo SL

A lightweight gravel grinder E road bike with flared handlebars, wide treaded tires, a seat post dropper, and unique Future Stem 2.0 steer head tube suspension that’s not all the Specialized Turbo Creo SL has going for it but those are a few of the favorite aspects from the reviews.

Pros
  • Battery can get up to 80 miles per charge
  • 2 year warranty
  • Low motor profile
Cons
  • No kickstand

Durability & Build Quality

Due to the slightly higher chance of scratches from the chain to the frame an extra long rubber slap guard protects the carbon frame from chain strikes when riding on bumpy terrain, it’s a clean lightweight design that’s effective at what it does ensuring the carbon fiber can remain as clean as a aluminum competitor like the Yamaha Wabash. The Specialized SL is filled with innovations, such as the Future Shock damper front suspension system and a rear hub motor that can hit 28 MPH,

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

While the Turbo can’t quite match up to it’s sister the Specialized Works Turbo Creo SL Expert it’s max speed of 28mph is nothing to shake a stick at as not even the Cannondale Synapse NEO SE can match. The motor activation is fairly smooth and fluid, it’s a zippy noticeable feeling that beats all of the other lightweight SL road bike models like the Yamaha Wabash.

Range & Battery

The beloved 320Wh internal battery pack can get up to 80 miles of use on a single charge and the range extender batteries can boost theat up to 160 miles, though the cord to connect the extra battery is sold separately. It’s awesome that Specialized has allowed you to choose which battery is drawn down first, or to drain them both in tandem, using the Mission Control app, this way you won’t be cycling one battery constantly wearing through its cycles faster.

Safety features

The 11 Speed Shimano Ultegra motor Specialized SL gives the electric bike the power it needs with a cover to keep clothes from getting caught in the gears even if the turbo mode is active.

Value

The Specialized Creo is a rather mid range bike when it comes to cost, both the front rear and main gear hub have clear signs of quality but the cost coming in lower then some of it’s competition leads to the bike not matching up to the most expensive bikes.

Specialized Turbo Creo SL Wrap Up

The bike works, Creo SL is overall a good bike with few problems like the lack of a kickstand being more of an annoyance rather than an out right, battery specialized in getting an outstanding 80 per charge making even some of those more expensive bikes look cheap by comparison.

Emojo Panther Review

If you’re an older individual looking for an eBike that’s sporty, fun, and easy to use, the best electric bike for seniors is arguably the Emojo Panther. For starters, it keeps your back in an upright, relaxed position, relieving any strain on your back. And if you feel like dialing up the fun, hit the on-demand throttle and take off at 20mph.

Why We Like It – Emojo Panther

With on-demand throttle, the 500W motor on the Emojo Panther can top you off at 20mph, while keeping you in an upright, relaxed position that’s much better for the backs of older bones.

Pros
  • 500W motor w/ on-demand throttle
  • Keeps you in an upright, relaxed position
  • Tektro mechanical brakes w/ 160mm rotors
Cons
  • Base model lacks most of its greatest features

Durability & Build Quality

The Panther Emojo Electric Bike has a frame made of 6061 aluminum alloy, which is tougher than 7005, albeit less resistant. Its step-thru frame makes it easier to mount and dismount. When sitting, you’re in an upright, relaxed position, complemented with swept back handlebars and Wellgo plastic platform pedals, like the E-Joe Angunn Electric Comfort Bike. It’s overall much better on your back.

Performance (Speed & Acceleration)

Press the thumb throttle and you’ll get a kick from the 500W motor and hit a maximum speed of 20mph. It will also provide you with cadence based pedal assist and 7 speeds from its Shimano Altus system, which is a nice combo with its fat tires.

Range & Battery

The 48V/10.4ah lithium-ion battery (that’s its battery type) has a battery range of 45 miles, nearly 10 more miles than the VoltBike Elegant. Going 20mph, you could reach over an hour of battery life.

Safety Features

The Emojo Panther Electric Bicycle has several nice safety features we really appreciate. The choice to include brake type Tektro discs, with 160mm rotors was a good once. It’s not uncommon for Tektro to compete with Shimano in performance. More importantly, the motor inhibitor will cut power to the motor when you brake.

Value

To get more bang for your buck, the $2199 model includes additional features like MOZO spring suspension, fenders, rear rack, LCD display, and suspension fork; otherwise you’re missing out on added safety, smoothness, and the ability to commute. If you aren’t picking up the more expensive option, take the ElectroBike Gama Cruise for $1500.

Emojo Panther Wrap Up

The Emojo Panther, in its base form, is a fun bike for casual use. Unfortunately, it’s more expensive model is clearly the better option with added safety, the ability to commute with an added rear rack, and better handling. However, even in its base form, having on-demand throttle is awesome, and the Tektro brakes stop on a dime. And an upright, relaxed sitting position is better on your back, too.
