Do you want the best i3 laptop and the best laptop for everyday use? If so, you might find yourself considering the Dell Inspiron 15 3000 i3. While not suitable for heavy gamers or processor-intensive tasks, the Dell Inspiron is the perfect touchscreen laptop for users who just need an everyday companion as they go throughout their workday.

Why We Like It – Dell Inspiron 15 3000 i3

Lots of internal storage, 8 GB of RAM, and a 10th Gen Intel Core i3-1005G1 Processor are just a few of the great things we’ll cover in this Dell Inspiron 15 3000 i3 review!

Power & Performance

Powered by an Intel core i3 processor, Intel has given this 15.6 inch laptop enough horsepower to manage daily tasks with ease. This dual-core processor runs at 1.2 GHz (up to 3.4 GHz) and has a 4 MB cache. The Inspiron is equipped with Intel UHD Graphics, 8GB of DDR4 SDRAM, and loads of onboard storage (another device with a lot of storage is the HP 17.3 laptop). It runs on the Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64 Bit operating system, works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wifi networks, and even has Bluetooth 4.1 capabilities, all of which come together nicely in this 4.45 lb. laptop.

Battery

The battery seems to be the weak point of these Dell laptops. Results vary, but most people report the battery lasting between 4 to 5 hours. This is much lower than the 8-10 hour battery life of similar devices. The battery isn’t removable, which may be a downside for some users. This short battery life isn’t an issue if you’re usually near an outlet, but if you’re planning on using the laptop for long trips, you may want to check out our HP 15.6 laptop review instead.

Ports & Expandability

You get a wide variety of connection options on this laptop. Dell has included two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While modern amenities like a USB-C port or a mini DisplayPort are lacking, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting this laptop connected to your other devices. You also won’t encounter any issues when it comes to storage, as this laptop has both a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive.

Build Quality

The build quality of this device isn’t anything standout, but it’s not particularly ugly either. Black is the primary color of this laptop, with only the white of the keys and a silver Dell logo to provide variety. Unfortunately, full HD isn’t an option, as the resolution of the touchscreen is only 1366 x 768. It does have a full keyboard, but it lacks backlighting (if a backlit keyboard is a necessity for you, check out our ASUS VivoBook 15 review!). You do get a web camera though, which is a nice (but expected) feature.

Value

$675.99 may seem like a high price tag, but it makes sense when you consider that this laptop has both a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive inside. There isn’t any information available about a warranty, but you do have the option of purchasing a protection plan. Prices vary, with two years of protection available for $73.99 and four years available for $124.99. Amazon provides both free shipping and returns for this device, but (based on the 4.6 out of 5-star rating) it seems unlikely that you will need to return it.

Dell Inspiron 15 3000 i3 Wrap Up

For consumers looking for a daily device with loads of onboard storage, the Dell Inspiron 15 3000 i3 is a great choice! Unless you have hundreds of videos to store, it’s unlikely you’ll run out of space with this laptop. While the specs aren’t suitable for demanding high-intensity games, any casual user will be more than happy with the experience this laptop provides.
