Performance

The performance of the Canon Pixma MG6320 often flipped back and forth depending on the printing job we gave it. When it came to general use—printing legal documents and so on—printing quality was average, at best. It wasn’t until we fed it Canon photo paper that we saw the true power of the Canon Pixma MG6320 because photo quality was superb, completely outshining the HP OfficeJet 5255. If you need high quality photos, this could be a dedicated photo printer.

The Canon printer prints at about 13 pages per minute in black, 10 in color. As far as print speed is consider, that’s fine for personal use. Additionally, the Canon Pixma MG6320 Wireless InkJet Photo and Document Printer has Wi Fi capabilities, opening it up for wireless printing with Google’s Cloud Print and Apple’s own AirPrint.

Design

The Canon Pixma MG6320 is rather large with dimensions 14.6 x 18.4 x 5.9 inches. Just below the 3.5-inch color touch screen, you’ll locate the scanner under a pull-up lid. Slots are available to insert memory cards.

The MG6320 also comes with two paper trays, with one better suited for letters and legal papers. The trays have a capacity of 125, which is perfect for personal use. If you need two-sided printing, duplex printing is available, which is lacking in the HP OfficeJet 3830. Under the hood is an ink tank that can hold six ink cartridges.

Value

The value of the Canon Pixma MG6320 teeters between okay and really good. It’s value comes out of purpose. What do you want out of the Canon Pixma MG6320? Do you want a photo printer? The Canon Pixma MG6320’s photo printing is superb. Do you want an all-purpose printer? It’s more than capable. Are you running a small business? Then the Brother HL-L2300D would be better suited.

Unfortunately, ink can be expensive if you’re using the printer often. Part of the reason is two additional ink slots. A typical four-ink system would cost, on average, 16 cents per page. With extra ink slots thrown in, the cost per page can reach 19 cents. On the bright side, ink cartridges rarely have to be replaced if you use it sparingly.

Canon Pixma MG6320 Wrap Up

The Canon Pixma MG6320 provides the perfect answer for an all-in-one printer that can handle day-to-day tasks. Where it excels, however, is its ability print photos with superb quality. Sure, ink can be expensive, but this is Canon we’re talking about—you know you’ll always get quality. If it’s used when necessary, the cost won’t be an issue.
