The Sony X950H 49-inch TV is a 4K Android TV with Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a high peak brightness, and X Motion Clarity technology for clear motion resulting in excellent picture quality.

Performance
Expect an enjoyable gaming experience when using this smart TV. The ultra HD display has a high refresh rate of 120Hz on a TRILUMINOS Display, low input lag, and a fast X1 Ultimate processor, as well as a variety of other features we will go over later in this TV review. Sony also included Dolby Vision for HDR support, a built-in microphone on the remote control for use with Google Assistant voice control, and made sure the TV was compatible with Amazon Alexa (though it is not built-in).

Viewing Angle
Unfortunately, the 49″ version of this TV doesn’t have the “X-Wide Angle” feature. Therefore, it performs poorly when viewed from the side. For a wider viewing angle, consider alternative options such as the Samsung Q80R. This TV has two feet that are used as the stand, so you will want to invest in a wall mount if you plan on adjusting this 49″ TV for better viewing angles around your room (if this 49″ LED TV isn’t big enough for you, there are larger options available, such as the Sony X900H 85 Inch TV: 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV).
Durability
This TV is built-very well. The monitor stand is made completely of metal and keeps the TV secure with very little play. The TV itself is encased in plastic, but the plastic isn’t flimsy and will provide reasonable protection for the internal components of this TV. While the exterior of the X950H is high-quality, the same cannot be said for the sound quality of its internal speakers. At moderate levels, they perform fine, but distortion increases as the audio approaches maximum volume, meaning a soundbar should be on your list of future investments (if you don’t have one already!).

Ports & Expandability
With 4 HDMI ports (#3 has ARC/eARC support), one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0, composite in (which requires an additional purchase of an adapter), digital audio output, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, the X950H has more than enough options to connect your favorite devices. It also has an internal tuner for viewing cable television, and although there is an ethernet plug on this TV, it can function just fine on Wi-Fi (and works with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks).
Value
The 49″ version of this TV will set you back $998 (prices go up to $3,798 for the 85-inch version). If this price is more than you would like to pay, a cheaper alternative is the Hisense 55H8G! Both shipping & returns are free, so should you decide this TV isn’t right for you, there are no worries about incurring additional costs. Supposedly there is a warranty, but no additional information is provided, so you may find it worthwhile to invest in a 3-year protection plan for $93.99.
