Performance

The X950G TVs are part of the Sony XBR range and offer fantastic picture quality with 4K Ultra HD resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) compatibility. The excellent local dimming has 60 zones and these TVs also feature three different picture modes in Dolby Vision. If you get the 85-inch TV, you also get X-Wide Angle technology that keeps the color vivid at wide viewing angles. Even the remote control has good performance with buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Google Play. If you want Roku integration, check out the TCL 32S327 Roku.

Design

The X950G range has a premium look and feel that oozes class. All the bezels are slim and feature classy metal accents. The TV remote has also been upgraded to a sturdy metal casing. One of the best parts of the design is the inclusion of the Android operating system. It gives access to many apps, as well as streaming services. In terms of connectivity, the Sony X950G comes with four HDMI video inputs, an ethernet port, a composite video input, digital audio outputs, and Bluetooth. Another TV with an amazing design is the Toshiba 43LF711U20.

Value

This range of LED TV’s is quite expensive, but you’re getting a great mid-range TV with incredible picture quality. The Sony X950G has 4K Ultra HD resolution with Dolby Vision HDR capability and delivers deep blacks and bright colors. Another area where it excels is in upscaling non-4K HD content to make it look like Ultra HD. The X950G range also features the Android operating system and compatibility for Google Assistant and Alexa. They offer good value for money, just like the Insignia NS-50DF710NA19.

Sony X950G Wrap Up

Sony has really hit the ball out of the park with the X950G. Their aim is to offer a more upmarket range of TVs and in this respect, they’ve succeeded. Everything from the construction to the picture quality and features is top-notch and some of the best in their class. The sneakers might not be the best, but most people buying expensive TVs will have a soundbar or home theater.
