If you’re searching for a monitor that can double as a work and gaming monitor, then you should consider the BenQ GW2765HT. Equipped with features that will delight those on both ends, the GW2765HT can deliver powerful visuals while keeping a modest power consumption rate. Its focus on combating eye strain easily puts this monitor on our list of the best monitor for eyes and best gaming monitors. But how does it stack up against the best computer monitors?

Why We Like It – BenQ GW2765HT

The BenQ GW2765HT combines the best gaming and work laptops to bring high-end specs that don’t lead to a high price. Featuring a low blue light mode, this monitor helps to reduce eye strain so you can get more done.

Pros
  • Low price, high specs
  • 100% sRGB color for remarkable color accuracy
  • Low blue light mode and anti-flicker make for less eye strain
Cons
  • Bezel’s material is a dust and fingerprint magnet
  • Port selection seems somewhat outdated.

Performance

Focusing on performance, the BenQ GW2765HT is a powerhouse that can only be beaten by its own successor, the BenQ GW2280 Eye Care. However, this monitor is still an impressive feat in itself. Thanks to its quad HD resolution, it can display up to one billion colors. With a 60 Hz refresh rate and four ms response time, the BENQ GW2765H looks good for developers and designers, this may not be the monitor for you if you are looking for the absolute highest refresh rates.

Viewing Angle

With the BenQ GW2765HT being an IPS panel, viewing angles aren’t going to be a problem. Coming in with a 178-degree viewing angle, you’ll be able to utilize its color accuracy and clarity no matter where you look at it. Plus the included stand lets you adjust swivel and rotate to whatever position is best for you, even supporting vertical placement.

Durability

While the build quality of the BenQ GW2765HT is exceptional, there is one small detail that I can’t help but point out. When it comes to the material used for the bezel, BenQ decided to use a glossy reflective material, and while it may have its fans, I don’t see enough reasons to justify using this over any other matte material. It is incredibly easy for dust to collect around these parts, and fingerprints stay wherever you touch them. Of course, a simple wipe fixes this problem immediately, but customers shouldn’t even have to do this in the first place. A monitor that doesn’t feature this problem is the Dell UltraSharp U2412M.

Ports/Expandability

Similar to the BenQ EX2780Q, the BenQ GW2765HT comes equipped with d-sub, DVI, Displayport 1.2, and HDMI 1.4 ports. Finishing it off is a headphone jack and line-in input. The choice of ports for this monitor is rather odd; especially when comparing it to the ViewSonic VA2855SMH. Granted while it has the expected DVI and HDMI ports, most of the other ports feel dated and unnecessary. Taking up space a USB port could have easily been replaced.

Value

Far and away the most valuable part of the BenQ GW2765HT besides its picture quality is its tech used to help prevent eye strain. Just like you’d find on the BenQ PD2720U. One of these features is the low blue light ability, without a majority of blue light being seen by your eyes, you don’t have to worry about straining your eyes. Though if you don’t wish to sacrifice color accuracy, there is always the anti-flicker setting.

BenQ GW2765HT Wrap Up

For those who are looking for a monitor to use for media work-related purposes, while also being a reliable gaming monitor, the BenQ GW2765HT offers plenty that makes it a serious contender. For its low price, this monitor offers quad HD resolution with remarkable color accuracy. Its emphasis on reducing eye strain more than makes up for its dust magnet of a bezel, and if the ports are something you don’t mind, the BenQ GW2765HT is a solid contender.
