NEC probably isn’t the first brand that comes to mind when you think of the Android platform. But that might soon change, albeit slightly, thanks to the introduction of the LifeTouch Note.
It’s a 7-inch netbook that ships with Android 2.2 and is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 250 Mobile Processor. When it does launch it will be available in three different models: 3G, Wifi and 8GB of storage; WiFi only; and WiFi and 4GB of storage. The screen has a 800×480 resolution, is LED backlight and is touch resistive, which should make for a Nokia like touch experience, which in our book ain’t a good thing. There is also an accelerometer, SD card slot, 2 megapixel camera and GPS.
We’re don’t know what the exact measurements are of the Lifetouch Note, but according to Akihabara it will weighs 699 grams, or 1.54lbs, on par with Apple’s iPad.
In terms of pricing, even though a launch date is still unknown, expect to pay some where in the neighborhood of $500-600.
