The Acer XR382CQK is a diverse device that managed to rank among the best curved gaming monitors, best gaming monitor, and the Best 1440p Gaming Monitor with its immersive curved design and smooth frame rate transition. This monitor has a good refresh rate when it comes to games like Rocket League, COD Modern Warfare, and more. See how it stacks up against some of the best computer monitors.

Why We Like It – Acer XR382CQK

There are times where you need to go big on your desktop monitor to experience lifelike graphics and swift reaction times that may give you a competitive edge while gaming. The Acer XR382CQK brings quality to your desk by having a 4K ultrawide IPS display with a wide aspect ratio that is great for productivity among other useful features. Not unlike the features you’ll see in our review of the Acer ET241Y, which offers excellent color accuracy and a rapid response time.

Pros
  • Acer VisionCare Technologies will relieve eye fatigue
  • 7W DTS speakers increase the portability of this monitor
Cons
  • Only a 75hz refresh rate

Performance

The 37.5” inch screen has an IPS display with a maximum resolution of 3840×1600. It was surprising to hear that a monitor as expensive as this one only has a max refresh rate of 75hz. If the unusual mid-tier refresh rate is a deal-breaker for you, a better monitor to check out may be the BenQ EX3203R which has a rate of 144hz. It still maintains a 1ms response time, and it even has external speakers that can come in handy if you weren’t looking to invest in some external speakers at this moment.

Viewing angle

The curvature on this monitor helps immerse you into your content. It is HDR-ready so it will enhance the graphics for even more of a realistic view. It has an aspect ratio of 21:9 so you will have more screen space to view or work on. The ultra-wide monitor uses an IPS panel type, and they usually provide the best viewing angles and color accuracy. It has an impressive 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio, so it will show a wide range of darker and lighter colors. If you are enjoying these curved monitors, another great choice to read about is the Asus PG348Q.

Durability

With your purchase comes a limited warranty that covers any internal damage, but if you want to go that extra mile you may want to learn about any protection plans that the retailer may offer. Customer reviews have mentioned light bleeding from the display, and dead pixels, so if you don’t want to take a chance on this monitor and avoid any of these potential issues, the Alienware AW3418DW is another monitor you may be interested in.

Ports/expandability

When it comes to what you can connect to this monitor, this Acer is equipped with a single DisplayPort, 1 DisplayPort Out, a single USB 3.0 port which is disappointing, 1 USB type C port, and a single HDMI port, which means you if you have extra consoles you will have to be worried about constantly going to switch around the cables whenever you decide to play one console over the other.

Value

While the Acer XR382CQK model may be expensive, it still provides an immersive experience that will make you appreciate your video games much more. Thanks to the AMD FreeSync the monitor matches the refresh rate with the graphics cards to improve the overall smoothness of the game so you can bid farewell to motion blur and ghosting diluting your experience. Thanks to exclusive Asus technology, you will also be able to watch marathons and feel less eye fatigue after. This best Acer monitor will cater to users of all backgrounds, interests, and experience levels.

Acer XR382CQK Wrap Up

While the refresh rate on the Acer XR382CQK was a shocker at a mere 75hz, you can still enjoy the latest games and movies with a curved display that still immerses you into the content. Your content will still have HDR capabilities, and Colorplus technologies which will bring out superb visuals that keep you hooked.
